500MBps connection here and the updater is 1990 level.
Do something please, this is not serious.

I have a 1 GB Fibre connection and I’m currently looking at speeds of 5-10kbs, no issues through Steam or other DL platforms.

Same issue - tried reseting and updating everything. Now at 20 kb/s. Guess we’ll just have to wait

Just download the patch with a VPN. You can use a free one like the free version of Proton. You’ll be online in no time.
They should move world of warcraft to steam already, but knowning Blizzard they will wait a year atleast so everyone buys next expansion on Battle.net first.
moving it to steam dosent help at all since that will just make more delays and when steam is down you cant login either.
just look at Eve Online since that have had a ton of issue since they introduced it on steam.
btw if you go Battle.net App Settings → Downloads under the Download Limits section is that set to 0? and are you using wifi or wired?
