I feel the exact reverse.
Something that felt like a challenge and a place to conquer has just turned into a place where I need to spend an hour hoovering stuff up every week.
In that post I write this:
So we return to our triad: Sense of world, sense of community, and sense of danger with good combat. Torghast fail 2 of 3, but it’s only a matter of time before you get the traits that kills that as well.
This update means that Torghast fails 3 out of 3 - it no longer has fun and challenging combat, it’s just a weekly hoover-job.
In my opinion this was a bad move. People wanted to do every floor, and instead of saying “You can do them all if you’re good. If you’re not, you can do them all except 2, and the amount of power you get there is very low anyhow”, they just nerfed the whole thing to the ground.
At this moment I find truly nothing about Torghast enjoyable any more. It had that one thing going for it: The combat made the run difficult, so you needed some coordination, some planning, some looking around the room, understanding the enemies, etc. All this looking around and planning and anticipation on executing a plan based on what I see and hear in the game creates an immersive experience for me. That’s gone now.
