I was in the “this is possible but painful” crowd, and I’m glad to have gotten through L7 and L8 with a party and no fails. That is appropriate for something that is tied to a core game feature
(Also, our moonkin was turning mobs into chairs… where’s my amazing cool anime power like that? )
Disappointing that they’re simply choosing to nerf it all. This will simply make Torghast another type of mandatory boring challengeless content. If they’re going ahead with this they should additional more difficult layers.
I found some challenge in some of it. And if it isn’t challenging they should add challenge. And what exactly would the problem with adding more layers be?
Everyone and their pet dog knew that paladins and warriors could solo up to lvl 6 without any armor or weapons on (cheesing it.) But your first solution of:
4X to 8X the HP of all mobs
Turn floor bosses epic
4x+ the damage of mobs and specific bosses
etc
That did nothing to stop pally or warriors cheesing Torghast. All it did was make it hard or nigh impossible for many other players.
Don’t get me wrong, this is a good adjustment, but one surely brought on as I am certain you seen Torghast involvement drop off a cliff stat wise.
What’s the point of being overpowered if it’s also difficult? Why even do 3x damage if mobs are 5x harder? You might as well go fight elites or solo a dungeon…? You’d get better loot and actually do more damage.
Maybe they should’ve added “Suggested iLvl” after each layer so people who’d go in with 150 and it was suggested for 200 would know it wasn’t going to be an easy task.
I spend mega amounts of time outside wow playing roguelites… I can’t recall the last time I saw any mainstream roguelite nerfing an entire game… the difficulty is fun on floor 8, I’ve cleared it on dk and druid solo (pre super gearing)… I’ve died a few times and I’ve run on 0 lives on last boss… and finishing it felt so satisfying, like I actually felt sooooo goood!!! I mean that final clutch for the win is amazing… but nope, too hard for some so might as well just drop anima on every mob pack, elite, give us infinite anima to buy all anima powers, soul remnants might as well give us 10 stacks instead of just 1, why have a death counter anymore ? … who actually wants a challenge, cant we just fight the last boss ? and just nerf it so it does nothing on top of it. Like why have torghast if its literally just gonna be a cake walk, I mean whats fun anyway.
Challenges are no longer meant to be overcome just moaned about so they nerfed.
Same, i’m a huge Hades fan. I think what they did is the best solution for this. I mean, having god mode, normal mode and hell mode. But i’m pretty sure the last thing they would do is nerfing the entire game for everyone because x% people can’t do it.
They could open all the corridors or whatevers and some of them would be for players who want an easier time. They could get their soul ash for the week there, we could get it in the challenging ones. But nerfing everything except for Twisting Corridors is ridiculous at best. I went in higher layers for the challenge, because i don’t really care about the 40 soul ash it gives, now that its a new islands expedition/warfront that can’t be failed, they should just give an option where they mail us the maximum amount of soul ash every week. Now it’s really pointless to run it.
Amiright ?! Man people keep forgetting things become easier with gear. If you cant clear it instantly go do some dungeons and gear up and come back to it.
Cleared 8 solo with my squishy elemental shaman so really no excuse.
God forbid some piece of content forces you to use all of your kit and actually learn your class.
