The WOW recently received a 95 GB update and after that the game’s disk memory was doubled. How can I get it back?
The game will only get bigger.
Get a nice big SSD for your pc that you can use exclusively for games, I guess?
A 95gb update ?! Are you sure you didn’t re-install your game ?
The full game download on my SSD is just under 95gb.
Maybe he installed the beta or another test realm?
automatically loaded.
My “World of Warcraft” folder is 130GB with live retail+cata classic installed. How big is yours in total?
So called 108 gb but more (in reality)
My folder is at 100gb with addons and all, 107 if cataclysm is installed. If it’s more, copy your wtf and interface folders and uninstall then redownload. A few days ago that’s how I fixed a friend’s issue with installing beta too. There were residual files that weren’t deleted. With beta you should have roughly a 130gb folder as the new expansion is pretty big.
My folder was 161 gb with retail, TWW beta, pre-patch PTR and Cata classic installed. I uninstalled classic and PTR since I don’t plan to play them (I didnt’ even remember they were installed) and now it’s 150 gb for retail and beta.
I think my game folder is just shy of 100gb.
I tried scan and repair but it didn’t do anything, so I deleted the entire Data folder which occupied almost all space in the WoW folder.
Then I ran “check for updates” for both retail and cata classic which added 97GB and 10GB respectively so now my install is 107GB instead of the 130 earlier today.
When you say yours is more in reality, how exactly are you getting that info?
Before the update I had 236 GB of free space on my disk, now I have 146 space…
Well…if windows says your WoW folder is 108GB then it’s 108. I recommend software like TreeSize:
https://treesize.en.softonic.com/
It’s free and really handy for displaying what occupies your drive.
time to upgrade your card.
i can´t even install Baldur’s gate 3 with my 464gb
but I am working on building my own PC <3 2TB storage.
The beta is 22gb in total (install size) and 10gb to download (download size) if you have retail already.
There’s been plenty of sales for SSDs about, time to get a new one. Keep an eye out, picked up a 4TB Samsung EVO for €150 awhile ago.
Bnet probably did something dumb like downloading an entire new copy of game because it didn’t recognize your previous install for (insert whatever) reason.
I’d delete the entire folder + related and download it again.
All games are massive now a days though. Better get used too it.
4TB is the new 80GB.
