Upgraded from Ryzen 1800x to 3700X and barely any FPS improvement

So I just today upgraded from the Ryzen 7 1800x to the Ryzen 7 370x after looking around online hoping to get some improved framerates,
But from what i can see currently there has not been a single change in the FPS and I’m still getting around 50/60 fps in Boralus. and about 65/75 fps in Nazjatar So not sure what is going on I have done a clean install of my Nvidia drivers as well.

GPU: 1070 Asus Strix O8G
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
RAM: 2x8Gb Vengenace LPX DRR4 3200Mhz
Windows 10
And my wow is on a SSD

Graphics on 7 - With Liquid on Fair

I have tried switching from DirextX 11 and 12 and does not seem to do anything interms of FPS

At what resolution are you playing?
Did you set a maximum foreground FPS limit ingame?

DX12 does perform better in scenarios with lots of dawcalls.

At what clockspeed is your CPU running when playing WoW?
Is your RAM still running at 3200Mhz (should show 1600Mhz DDR in CPU-Z)?

CPU-Z says CPU is running at 4.23Ghz and Ram is running at 1600Mhz.

So you went with the upgrade then
Some parts of the game you will be GPU bound already been on retail a bit more lately and have been monitoring the performance of my Vega 64 and have noticed in quite a few places now I am GPU bound and running 90-100% load mainly when out questing 5 mans older content ect …, so don’t think you will see much difference their,
Not done any raids but where you should notice a difference is in raids where you have a ton of AOE and spell effects going on and you should be able to crank up some of the more CPU demanding graphics settings as should have less of an impact now.

You can double-check system performance using for example Userbenchmark - on the result page for each of your components you will find percentile performance so if percentile of your 3700X will be low then it underperforms vs other 3700X.

The other problem could be addons tanking the game performance or less likely some drivers conflict (Latencymon could detect that).

Yeah I did ^^, I mean games like overwatch I’m getting a stable 144 fps now so there that,
But something odd I noticed was I went on my Nightborn priest in ogrimmar and had 120+ fps,
But then switched to my blood elf pally on the same server and was only getting like 70/80 fps in Orgimmar. So that was kinda odd

Different addons?
Different server shard maybe with less people.

Addons were the same on both characters.
But that’s a good point on the server shards.
I have tried my fps without Addons and it was roughly a 8 to 15 fps increase but never really a stable over 100fps anywhere.

I’ll be leaving some of my alts though BFA tonight so I’ll check what fps I get around while playing

@bigkeg
I will give them programs a try when I get home from work and see what I get.
