I’ve gained more fps overall and a better min/max in most situations i’ve tested
Compare like for like. What’s your win 10 dx 11 fps.
Ok so its mainly in harder/stressful environments the difference came for me, I dont know if this is related to the upgrade or not but im sure judging by what people have said it is.
Basically think ghuun when the beam comes and adds spawn, or even on pull, on dx11 i’d get like 20 FPS dips, but now its double that. Again i think it might have something to do with cpu cores being utilized better than it was windows 7
Again not sure if I did something else right like reinstalling/turning off some addons but im not the only one who has noticed an improvement (have a gtx 1080 if that matters with a few years old i7 processor)
Wow who’d of guessed 9 year old software, that’s not even supported any more. Would run worse then modern optimised software?
Thats odd, bc win 10 is incredibly slow and this is a new computer. Not a bad one either. And im sick of the continuous MS spy software and upgrades and other bogus that cannot be turned off.
So i am going back to win7.
I believe alot of people rein in windows ten through the registry and the services.
You cannot tell windows update to not update but you can shut the program off altogether… It kind of makes their lack of turn off button kind of pointless.
There’s even ways to break cortanam it’s just sad that they had to go that route with the OS.
No, you cant turn of windows update, or defender, etc in the home edition. Since all oem versions that come with the hardware carry the home edition, most ppl have this problem. Most dont realize it yet though, but they will.
B should work on their own platform for their games (console would be great), bc the route ms has taken with this will lead to an increasing amount of trouble. It already does.
Improvements were made to the engine in patch 8.1 that allowed more CPU cores to be used to generate chunks for the GPU to render. This feature, however, only works on Direct X 12 and requires a Direct X 12-compatible GPU and Windows 10.
In other words, yes, you are almost certainly going to get an FPS boost if you can run the game in Direct X 12 on a capable system.
I do and i am:
No fps boost,
And this is nothing new. Its been reported several times on this forum that ppl did not see that fps boost.
Other ppl, i read here (tech i think) recently, blame the poor performance of wow on its leaning very heavily on the processor and poor use (even non existant was stated) of multiple cores. I wouldnt know about that bc i dont keep track of all that anymore.
I do however have an extensive ict background and notive part of the problem is win 10.
I also noticed B adapted the sys requirements AFTER bfa was released. That is a nono for me.
Not happy.
And i will be far less happy if B stops support for win 7 anytime in the next 4 years. I will not use win 10. Ever again.
Which means i would then have to stop wow. Now they wont lose any sleep over that. But i will not be the only one throwing this immoral and flawed piece of junk os under the bus.
So i hope B is smart enough to develop its own platform and console the damn thing, bc problems wrt this will only increase, considering the route MS has taken.
Or make it run on a linux distro. They could even bring out their own distro.
Are you sure the problem is not on your end, win 10 is super fast for me and according to popular tests it’s supposed to be faster aswell
My SSD is not that spacious (500 GB with almost half of it taken up) but still smooth as butter loading just about anything
Those automatic updates can be annoying but if you have a gpu capable card idk why you’re on dx11
im on dx12
You really think Blizzard should create their own OS because you don’t like Win10?
Wow.
How much do you drink per day?
Thats not what i said.
Try again.
I hardly ever drink alcohol.
You didnt mean that literally, i know. You meant it to further insult me and enhance your stance that i am an idiot.
I am not.
You clearly did not understand what i said and know nothing about win10.
I suggest you start to read up. The web is full of it.
