Upgraded my graphics card today from a 1050ti to a 2060 yet the increase in performance seems off. Before I was playing at 1440p on graphic setting 8 I think with an fps of around 30-50 depending on the area. Now on max settings I’m only getting between 30-40 fps. In comparison, my performance has over doubled in more modern games.
Any ideas as to what it may be or what I may do to try and improve things? Everything is literally the same as it was before the graphics card upgrade. For reference sake my other specs are Ryzen 5 1600, 16gb DDR 3000hz ram, 512gb SSD.
Not sure what I should expect performance wise from the 2060 but it should certainly be better than 30fps I’m sure. Using latest drivers and everything too.
If i read that correctly, you bought the new card and moved the slider from 8 to 10?
Thats the problem right there, setting 10 is not optimized well, even people with 2080 cards are posting that they struggle.
Imo, let it be at 8 and see how it goes.
your ryzen cpu is bottlenecking you thats why you dont get any performance increase at all, wow is a cpu dependent game.

That is true, and because of that modern games are working great, because they are gpu dependant, WoW is cpu dependant so untill you upgrade your processor you won’t see any huge fps increase.
CPU will be the bottleneck only if it’s actually fully utilized (or one core of it). Depending what area or what activity if any resulted in that low FPS it may not have been direct CPU bottleneck. RTX 2060 is not top tier card so it may also play a role.
