Ok. Am i missing something here or is this system pure cancer?
Soo Conduits. I am m+ player, i have skipped the maw entirely in 9.0. I had all conduits at ilvl 200, mostly from emisary chests.
In 9.1, the max ilvl is 252 and I like that you can get them from torghast. However, when i used the one from thorgash - it only boosted one conduit randomly from 200 to 213.
With my understanding of this wonderful system - am i supposed to upgrade all conduits to 213 - 226 - 239 - 252?! In which case its the best to stockpile and save 252 ones for months not to waste them to upgrade to 213? 226 drop from Korthia, not reliably tho, sometimes rng jesus gives you some from m+ but kinda low ilvl.
And i run 5 characters which turns this into a nightmare. Watching 252 conduits stockpile is… well.
Am i missing something here? Is there a better way to do this or “catch up”?
Spam m+ for 226 all the conduits that drop from there + Tazavesh, do a HC clear of the raid or two for 239 conduits then use the 252 upgrades from there
You really don’t. Get them to 226 and you need to upgrade them 2 times each, do HC raiding and you only need 1. It all depends on how willing you are to farm korthia.
The upgrade thing will either teach you a conduit you don’t know, or upgrade the lowest one you have a single rank.
If you want them all at 252, pretty much yes, unless you farm 226 conduits from hc raid or Torghast, and then you can skip two steps.
No point stockpiling, because it will upgrade the lowest one anyway. You won’t save anything by stockpiling, unless you do HC raids or Torghast for 226 conduits.
Do what I do: stop caring about conduits. We’re not playing at a level where they really matter.
Shows what kind of system it is, if players don’t even want to care about them.
It’s designed badly, there are so many conduits, that even if you had them at 226 and then started spending those to upg to 252, you’d need about 44 upgrade items. (22 conduits available for me now).
Since the patch came out i’ve acquired 3 upgrade tokens, 2 of them from adamant vaults and 1 i can’t remember.
Yeah it is a terrible system. Even with me doing every day korthia i still have 4 conduits below 226. It takes forever. And i hold on the 2 conduit upgrade-tokens that can go to 252 from Torghast. Why don’t they just upgrade immediately to 252 when i worked hard for that token. And it is even a random conduit that would upgrade to 252… It will be impossible to get all of your conduits on 252 at the end of the season anyway. Such a failed system.
Not necessarily a bad one, if not caring about them is a viable option. I don’t care about pet battles, raids, pvp, or world quests, either, for the most part - doesn’t make them inherently bad. It makes them optional. Some of them would make my character slightly more powerful, but not enough to make me care. Same with conduits.
It’s a system where those who want to max it out, can, while the rest of us can safely ignore it. That’s not bad.
It’s designed to milk the absolute maximum amount of gametime out of you, max level is no longer max level nowadays.
Remember when all you had to do to get your full set of abilities and in general just have a completed character in terms of utility and toolkit was ding max level?

Golden age of wow… then you did whatever you wanted, which is running dungeons/raids or doing PVP to further upgrade your gear or simply having fun, the only thing that mattered.
I guess you should be glad you’re not a druid. We truly have it the worst. I don’t think I’m ever gonna get my covenant ability conduit maxed out.
I’ll be honest, I have no idea. But I mean it’s 4 specs with 3 roles. I’ve yet to see my covenant conduit drop for anywhere and I’ve played from the start of this patch.
But yeah, it feels incredibly bad to get like resto conduits in place of the ones I need really badly.
That’s one of the things why this system sucks, they could have made it so the conduits that upgrade first are relevant to the spec you’re currently in.

Yeah. You are right. Unless doing +20’s or mythic it does not matter.
Its just kinda sad. I’ve done thorgast layer 12 and adamant vault and felt really good when i saw that 252 conduit. Planned to run it weekly. Only seconds later i realized, its really a 213 conduit
So, yeah just a bitter taste afterwards…
Dont get me wrong, 9.1 skip, threads of fate… some things are pretty good.
But conduits are the polar oposite to alt friendliness. And classes like frost mage, conduits could be 10+% dps difference.
