So when I got a shield dropped from a world boss in Zereth Mortis, I had a pop up where it said “Item upgraded”, and it was higher ilvl than previously. How do I upgrade items like that? Do I have to keep my drops in my bank or something?
On the internet people only talk about upgrades with valor/honor/conquest
There’s nothing you can do. It happens. It’s random.
Items dropping from mobs in the world have a small chance to upgrade automatically. It’s a small piece of good luck, but you can’t affect it. Just enjoy your slightly better piece.
