URGENT: Please fix the Battleground Queue - Low Level Brackets

Hi Blizz,

there is a serious problem with the Battleground Queue at least for lower level brackets. As I am comming from the 10-19 and 20-29 bracket I am gonna explain everything on this example even though I am almost sure it affects all brackets.
Both brackets used to have 24/7 pops. We were able to play vs. Germans/Frenchs and Russians at any time of the day. That slowed down drastically. Russian, German and French Bgs almost never pop anymore which ofc slows down queues overall. But why is that? Do you have any explanation? I can´t believe that on those regions there aren´t at least 10 ppl queued at the same time at least once a day.

That brings me to the main point. We are now only having pops during peak times with queue times up to an hour or more. Those two brackets have hundreds/thousands of active twinks playing every day. And there surely are a lot of “normal” lvlers queuing up. But something seems to mess up the BG queue. It feels like it needs waaaay more ppl each side to get a pop
To put that observation in perspective - I am a twink and I am part of a huge community of twinks. We are well organized and connected and so we know about pretty much everything that is going on in those brackets. So this is not just an assumption from playing 1 BG. This has been observed over the past weeks/months.
Just to give some examples why the matchmaking seems to be weird:

  • you wait hours for the first pop of the day, and end up in an AB or EOTS requiring 30 ppl queued. Could you explain, why the system does not prioritize a WSG that only requires 10 ppl each side to pop first?
  • At one point few days ago we suddenly had 4 games up at the same time. After all bgs ended nobody managed to get in another BG for over an hour! In my community and guild alone there were like 40 Twinks queued at that time. But it took over an hour for a wsg to pop with only ONE out of those 40 ppl getting the invite.

I think you get what I am trying to say. There are huge problems with the queue system preventing ppl from actually playing battlegrounds. Do you have any explanation for this? I am sure you will be able to check the numbers of BGs popping and I am sure you will be able to see that we have a huge decline lately. If I had to guess I would say that the random bg queue is the cause of the problem. Thats were it started to slow down queues for every bracket starting WOD.

Please help us out here and fix the problem. There are many ppl enjoying the lower level brackets.

Everyone else is invited to bump this thread or tell us about their own experience with the bg q. Thanks

The solution is simple.

  1. One BG queue for all levels.
  2. Upscale all players to level 120 when entering BG
  3. Make crossfaction teams
  4. add pvp templates with predefined stats ignoring gear and azerite in pvp
  5. Greatly improve rewards in pvp.

The problem is - they are not going to do that, because they do not want us to play battle grounds, but they want us to play repeatable quests, this is why they removed rewards from pvp and increased rewards for quests.

You need to understand the psyhology of current game director. He never played any PvP activity and the game probably too. He was encounter designer, that means he was involved in development of quests only. He think what wow is only about quests. This is very sad that so uncompetent idiot become a game director and broke the whole game.

It’s actually crazy how long it takes. It’s as if Blizzard doesn’t even want PvP to be a part of the game anymore. Most people will wait a bit and then start to think that PvP is dead.

Yes I’m glad there’s other people noticing this too! I queued from 7am to 5am and only got 5 BG pops, I mean come on ffs… Something is serriously bugged!!

Tl;dr, maybe stop ruining the lower brackets, for some reason people dont like playing agaist twinks that 3 shot them

ehh no thanks, this would suck.

a level 19 would be useless against a level 120, the templates were unpopular and the reward is already good enough for unrated pvp.

the only thing i can agree with is probably forcing mercenary mode when the numbers of players in the queue is low

Thanks for your feedback. I encourage you to carefully read the post again. Maybe you will realize that the number off Players queueing is NOT the problem. There are more than enough

Read through it, my bad. maybe this could be fixed with xpoff brackets for twinks made so that everyone gets in and this:

does not happend.

Sorry friend. If you need a thread to talk about your frustration with twinks then please open your own. This thread has nothing to do with twinks.
BGs don´t pop frequently even though there are enough ppl queuing. Your assumption in the quote is false. It wasnt 40 twinks queuing on one faction. It was spread like it always is. An those ppl were just those I have on ids etc. There are way more.
One last time: this is not about twinks and the population is NOT the problem.

Maybe you stop from now on with posting foolish inconsequential sentences.

Blizzard were the ones who implemented the merging of both twinks and levelers.
If they considered your “argument” as convincing, they would have not taken the step of merging them.

Next time you should approach topics objectively, rather than emotionally.

Long queue times in the lower level brackets has been common as long as I remember it (since lich king). This wont change.

Thanks for your feedback but this is a false statement. All information needed can be found in the op. The population is not the problem. The bugged q system is.

Interesting. I wasnt aware of this issue but usually found it weird that after really long queues it would open on a AB or EoTS. Could it be people queueing specific?

No go away

Enjoy 20 minutes queues.

Compared to any individually raised suggestion that’s worth it

Still an issue on EU servers.
