I do not have an active subscription but I have characters that should be eligible for free character transfer. I would like to be able to take advantage of this service before re-activating my subscription. I do not yet have time to play, but I would like to move my characters so that I can play on the same realm as my brother when I do. I can not find a way to do this on the Battle.net website and I am unable to log into the game without an active subscription.
You can ask for a couple free days off through a ticket but they’re currently quite busy. The FCM window may be closed by the time you receive an answer then.
I think the free window will close after wrath launches, so get that ticket in now and keep an eye on it everyday but as Saneko says, it may take a while.
Also double check which realm your brother plays on as if you get it wrong you cannot return to the realm you are currently on.

Don’t forget to specifically ask for a free day or two, I don’t think they will volunteer that information.
Your very last option would be to buy a months time, which is expensive for some. But now you can only buy 2 months so you would need to start a subscription and end it as soon as the money is taken.
An update on this. I had a ticket open with support for around 10 days. Last night I received a response, with a copy/paste answer telling me that they’re receiving a high volume of tickets and can’t answer my ticket right now and included links to their useless support pages and the community forums. The ticket has been marked as answered, and I am unable to respond to it.
Excellent customer service as usual! If anyone has any ways to contact support more directly than a ticket, I am all ears!
I’m sorry to hear about your experience. The MVPs are not wrong in that this can easily be resolved with a courtesy day of game time, which you would however have to request through a ticket. Please open a new one, e.g. via an appropriate category like this link.
