Playing resto shaman as alt and getting extremely frustrated with looting staffs and having them in vault. Why the heck it’s in the game if resto don’t use it! 2 of my vault slots were staffs, huge bummer

Yes, I’ve had staves as my only loot after a M+ dungeon as well on my Resto Shaman.
It feels like a Shaman only problem, I’m not sure I’ve had this issue with any other class I play.
It should absolutely be addressed.

Because they can use them as sometimes weapon and offhand are not best in slot

all use the MH/OF combo yet loot staffs its a none issue and been in place since 2004.
Where is the problem, shamans can use staves.
Massive armour loss. It’s a fair annoyance imo.

Fury warrior has to loot spec into arms too. Resfo shamans don’t use staves. At all. It’s not just like priest using off hand, you need to use shield
Fury can also “use” one hand weapon 
My suggested solution
Loot options:
- Combat gear
- Cosmetic gear
Pick the first when running current content, pick the second when grinding old raids dor transmog.
The first option will give you only useful items. whereas the second will let you loot items you may not want to use with this specific character.

Yes the do just you do not like them.
10.2 is riddled with Crit+Vers cloth gear, the worst stats for SPs… 
None of them use shields
Fury has a similar problem with 1h weapon drops .
Luckyly you dont really have to spec arms when opening vault because that garbage never gives anything good anyway. I dont need to swap my loot spec to get sockets.

yes we do need 2 sparks per craft , i sometimes wonder why am i still playing this god forsaken class

but they use offhands and armour isnt the be all and end all unless you are doing mythic raids,keys above 25 or rank 1 arena.
are you planning on doing the above mentioned ? if not you do not need armour that simple.

Are… are you getting hit a lot as resto spec?
we need context, if you are a solo player then sure I can see the annoyance, even though it hardly matters…
With no shield in resto spec I have an armor rating of 7282 (25,35% physical damage reduction)
With no shield a level 70 mob hits me for physical for about 14k-19k.
With a shield (11,686 armor aka 33,95% physical damage reduction) with the very same mob I get hit for about 10k-14k .
Armor rating isn’t really that useful.
Just use a cool looking staff if you get one and it’s an ilvl upgrade.

Well we all have 4 sparks by now get some crafted but a staff until you are regulary doing 25+ and my raids is just as good due to the massive stats on them.
best in slot for ele/resto is a staff sadly. so ye imagine if it couldnt be looted from vault, that would be even worse.
