Using a key repeater application

Hi,

Sorry if I’m posting this in the bad forum, but is key repeater applications allowed by Blizz? I’m currently playing an arcane mage, spamming my “1” button so much (14-15k / 2.5 hour raid time), and I fear that might break. Is that bannable if I use an application which simulates key stroke events if I just press the key down once and keep it down? (arcane mage rotation is pretty intresting but thats another story :smiley: )

It’s against the ToS because it’s automation. You’re only putting your finger down for one press with the method you’ve mentioned, not multiple presses.

Best way is to ‘train’ yourself to stop spamming so much. There’s a timer between each gcd where you can simply let go and not press anything. I usually go for 3 quick taps at a time as constant spamming as you say can become tedious.

Thanks, that was my thought also, but hoped for the best. ( keeping a key down can be interpreted as an action too )

Yeah spamming less is an option, but if you cast like 1s spells, there is the latency and the spell queue so its just easier to spam.

I broke the tab key on my wireless kb, so invested in a gaming kb. The keys are much more robust. I also got a gaming mouse. Both are wired as wireless kb and mouse have higher latency.

If people can use multiboxing for a lot of stuff ingame (looking at your flithy herb farmers!) and dont get banned even if repeated multiple times, someone with a macro for his filler spell realitcally shouldnt get banned. Just my two cents.

Yes, if it was repeating it to multiple clients otherwise no. (ie multiboxing)

General rule of thumb: one press one action.

I’m not actually being facetious here. Really. But I have to credit this Arcane guide for the inspiration, and it’s something I did myself once:

Bind two or three - as many as you like! - keys to Arcane Blast.

To give an alternative solution, which i don’t think is better than relaxing and spam less, is to bind arcane blast to multiple keys so you don’t have to spam the SAME key over and over.

Buy an Octopus.
Buy a big aquarium tank.
Put Octopus in tank.
Train Octopus to use a keyboard.
Go on holiday.
Job done.
