Using different letters within names?

I don’t personally use ú" etc in my character names, chiefly as it makes it hard for your character to be added etc. I name my characters one of two ways: First name, but only if I can get the first name I want, IE n.elf called ‘Thalendral’; Last names, when I can’t get my first name then I will see if I can make my character with their last name instead, IE n.elf called “Lunarhide”. I can then use TRP to implement either the missing first or last name on my profile.

I personally put other letters in my character’s names that won’t affect the pronunciation all too much (like putting an H on the end of names that end in an A for example)

There’s nothing wrong with it. I think every player on AD knows the hell that is trying to find a name for a new toon.

There’s nothing wrong with it. But having accents in your name when they’re not supposed to there is definitely the lesser life.

Cool kids don’t put accents in their names, folks

Just to add, you can right click a name in chat, /who, the guild roster, and a couple other places to copy it in game. Make sure to let people know that if they’re not sure how to add you to things. It’s easier.

Accents are for scrubs, you just gotta get that creativity going

I generally tend to go with nicknames or surnames if my desired name is taken. I’ve only used an accent for one character and that’s because it’s the same as another character, just a different class for mog purposes.

I also like accented names if it’s a real life name that’s meant to be accented in the first place. Like Renée or Amélie. You know, French names.

I like names that have accents or can be spelled numerous ways. French names were tickling me in Legion, which is one reason why I loved the Nightborne. Names like Valtrois.

Like I say, I love names that can be spelled in various ways. One of my best friends has various ways of how to spell his name, which is great. The way he spells his is “Kane”, but obviously that can spelled in a few varying ways.
