And thats not a bad thing because they have now a chance to give it to SOMEONE else who can use said item, thats a win-win scenario, benefits the player and feels good to help someone who has difficulty but no worries, thats why the valor points are there, if they’re farmable, then even better!
See this is funny to me cause when I was a kid there was a skin in a game that you could only get from completing the game on hard. I didn’t cry to the developers in a letter that I wanted it for free, I worked for it and when I got it I was happy I did it.
You’re making really weird assumptions about people not having jobs just because we believe effort should be rewarded
Do you remember that a game we play for fun isn’t the same as real life?
In a game we all play the same price for the same content, we are all equal, we all should get the same from this game. The only thing that creates differences should be how you get what you payed for. If you are “skilled” or simply have a lot of time to play, you can get there fast, but if you don’t have a lot of time to play or aren’t as skilled, you should still be allowed to get what you payed for, the easier way should simply take longer.
And also please remember this is an (MMO)RPG, not some hardcore competitive game; other players aren’t your enemies (at least in PvE), they simply are people who share passion for the same virtual world. Other types of games where to compete against other people is actually the focus of the whole gameplay can’t be compared to WoW.
Yeah only if that trinket will be actualy usable by anyone and if you wont be in pug. Nobady will willingly give up such item in pug for free.
And we all get the same opportunity to do the same things in the game.
The difference is that not everyone wants to put in the same effort but expect the same rewards for free.
I’m not sure if you’re missing the point or just trolling, probably the latter since “oh you just want everything for free” is such a signature statement.
Again you probably don’t understand what work is else you wouldn’t want to turn a game into it.
Work = activity where you put ceratain effort and you get rewarded for it with w/e is there as reward.
I dunno, I have no use for it, I’m willing to give it to some random in a Pug if they asked, what will I do to it? Delete it? If it was given to me, I can’t sell it on an AH so I might as well give it to someone that deserves it, but that’s just me.
I would sold it to the guy what would want it for gold otherwise i would just vendor it.
You’d rather have 35gold than giving someone else some joy in his life?
Wow…this community…
Thats how you create demand for something. Ofc it can go both ways but i dont hold such importance for gear as i play tank roles and i have no problem fiding groups no matter of my gear anyway. So i am willing zo give up on gear compared to dps roles what have high compettion.
This will also drasticaly increase boosting and high itemlvl players will now have high chance of trading loot to other players than before. Its another big win fot Blizz when comes to token sells.
You’re kind proving my point here, the crucial fact you left out is the nature of that activity, it’s work when that activity has no intrinsic value.
Yes, but that doesn’t mean we are all equal. Skill makes the difference and for an RPG there should be a way to ignore this difference. Usually you can choose if you want to play a game on easy or hardmode, but the rewards stay the same. In an MMO this needs to be handled differently, I get that, but it should be done by allowing different ways to reach the goal.
- “Effort” shoudn’t be tied to skill, but to time invested, yes, if you don’t play the game, you shouldn’t get anything from having it.
- “By an easier way” doesn’t mean “for free”.
To give an example I usead in previous posts; look at the keystone master mount.
Its a cool mount. I would like to have it, but I don’t see myself getting it before the season ends, why doesn’t matter at this point.
I’m okay with “skilled” people getting it “fast” for once doing all M+15, but it would be much more casual frendly, if people unable to achive this would be given another option to reach it instead of having to buy a boost; let us run the same dungeons each 60 times on heroic for example (easier, but much more time consuming) … or 40 times on M0.
Edit: Most important to note - I don’t want to have that mount handed to me by buying a boost; I want another (“easier”) way to work for it and achive it myself.
And most of all, don’t remove the mount completely from the game when the season ends.
Same goes for gear. Why shouldn’t it be possible to upgrade a heroic dungeon item to mythic itemlvl with those points, if you 1) have to collect much more currency to do reach the same item level and 2) get less currency for doing the dungeon only on heroic instead of M(+)?
Guess than this is your personal choice, if you feel like you should demand that they pay you for an item or you want to judge their worth, that is you my dude.
To me, like I said, I prefer to help someone struggling for loot than just going “Nah mate, you suck, please proceed to leave and uninstall WoW, we don’t do kindly to weak players.” towards them. They’re players like me, casual, hardcore in the end of the day, we’re all humans.
I always complete what i want in game so this is ok for me cause to clear 10 you don’t need 213 ilvl and for clearing 15 you don’t need 220 ilvl
ANd if those achievments are Acc wide and i can gear my alts with it ooh boy that will be fun to play this game again in m+
and i’m not playin more than 3 hours a day right now cause in shadowlands i don’t even need to play
There is intrinsic value and rewards lol.
If you’re only doing it for rewards then it has no intrinsic value.
Look who’s back
i once suggested raids/pvp/m+ should have their own set bonuses which are only active/useful in said contents and that it would basically solve all blizzards problems as they can tune each respectively and not find one crappy solution for all and i was basically explained in detail by someone what a brain dead person i am and that i should go to hell.
It kinda sucks. Wish you could at least target 233 ilvl dungeon weapons.
