Vanilla spell pushback and SOD for real

Recently playing lock and prolly is the worst class when it comes to spell push back in SOD and yes lock has option to build upon instant casts but none which hit really all that hard, often you die before they start doing damage.

Yes I also know that sometimes meta + drain life + searing vs some classes in some situations it’s a free kill for the lock

Now that that is out of the way

I really don’t get why I can barely cast a single ability when something is hitting me why is spell pushback this punishing? When at the same time casters are already very fragile so that extra pushback when casting you also lose a ton of HP

Classes have stuns, interrupts, silence but it never get’s used because spell pushback is so bad

You know what happens when a game has a design like this + the runes they added? Players build easy reliable instant cast builds that are annoying for everyone because there is no outplaying/interrupting/los of any kind

Why why why not simply limited the pushback on every cast, I just cannot understand when a hunter is attacking me + his pet my cast never ever goes out?

So I meta + drain + searing him to dead… how fun is that… that has nothing to do with skill of any kind

Just please let me cast something for once so we don’t all gotta rely on cheap lame instant cast builds

well death coil is comming for sure as well as fel guard which most probably will have stunt. those two will let you cast fear and whatever next. Warlocks will be most probably pretty strong this patch.

We’ll have to see in the end other classes get stuff too

Had a little thought about death coil, obviously great to have since it heals as well. But rogues for instance do have shadow step so they’ll trinket either death coil or fear and be on you with still not having cast anything really

So prolly be death coil into dmg over fear which is something I guess

Warriors also have multiple charges compared to before, so sending pet to force intercept so you can get distance with death coil doesn’t exist anymore

So yeah death coil great but in the grand scheme of SOD not as great as before

but in the end it’s not about lock, yes they have it worst I guess but in general all classes suffer from this and it’s annoying RNG mechanics that worked in vanilla but not in SOD

As a healer I got 75% chance to resist push-back and still against fast attacking classes the 1.5 second cast lesser healing wave turns into 3-4 seconds way too often, some people don’t even bother to interrupt anymore.

At the end of the day this is just the silly vanilla mechanic and you just have to know when to not even bother to cast something and rather see about landing a grenade or something to get some breathing room.

The cap on the push-back that was introduced later on(wotlk) was a sensible change.

You should never have to hard cast as a lock in PvP while a melee is on you, if you have to hard cast anything it should be fear and even then that shouldn’t be happening in the majority of fights .

What speccy are you playing ? If it’s destruction, then you’re going to get clapped because it’s not a PvP spec.

You have CoE which can be used prior to a rogue stepping you, your dots also prevent/vanish stealth. You also have meta which is 600% armour. There is no reason any rogue should be killing you in wPvP in SoD

Warlock is forced to run meta to compete. Most boring possible sh1t you can run in sod.

It’s obvious that someone on the sod team hates warlocks. Each phase we get the worst Runes of all. Nothing to help us in PvP. Just boring passive DMG buffs that are meaningless in pvp since we can’t cast anything anyway.

Just roll another class. Warlock will remain F-tier in SoD pvp forever.

Shadow priest is the real warlock. They can do everything that warlock can do, but much better. And clearly the SoD devs have a real hard-on for priest so you can rest easy knowing you will be the most OP class in every phase.

Locks are just a free HK in sod. Save yourself the headache and just reroll now

Priests gained hummonculi gl casting when those are hitting you while they also have blackout, fear and silence

Many examples of changes in SOD that make casting absolutely impossible for some classes. 1.5s casts that never go off.

It’s just not fun cap the spell pushback already

Baiting a interrupt on fire so I can free cast a fear. The fire spell never even gets interrupted because its pushback forever…. Clown show

priests are the worst offender for sure. no chance casting with homunculi and shadow field… spam instants and run away.

Just change it already doesn’t fit in SOD

And ooh no god forbid you actually gotta worry about timing your interrups
