Hello,
As title says, the vanishing mining and herba deposits are just a pain for the fair players.
The bots, being online 24/24 don’t care about such things.
For real players, this is VERY annoying. When 4-5 bots are landing on a deposit, it’s vanishing instantly and I’m losing my fly charges and cannot recharge because I’m not gathering anything. This is losing me a lot of time and is very infuriating. It ruins my gaming experience.
Yes, I’m reporting the bots (for obvious trolls here).
Right now I just hate the gathering professions because of this.
VERY often I land near a deposit, start gathering it and it vanishes while I’m gathering.
I repeat, this isn’t affecting the bots but my game time is limited by my work schedule and I cannot afford to run on the map without any success.
Please rethink the gathering professions.
Thank you.
Gathering nodes despawn a few minutes after first being gathered. If you´re expereincing it regularly on your route ( which will generally be identical to the route most other people take, especially if you got it from a guide), you´re really just having bad luck being right in that timeframe behind teh person 7-8 nodes in front of you.
As it stands, there are currently 2 ways to “fix” this, one of them actually won’t at all, and both will ruin the economy…
- make deposits despawn instantly after the first person gathers again, the way it used to be. Problem solved, but ah prices for mats skyrocket because the supply goes way down.
- extend the despawn timer even further. Problem not actually solved, but merely moved 2-3-4 minutes further back. So then it´s just not you complaining about them despawning literally minutes after the first person gathered them, but the person behind you. AH prices for mats plummet because now even more materials are available.
Do you perhaps have a suggestion for a solution that doesn´t wreck the the mats economy one way or the other, and /or just move the problem onto the next player in line?

I think the issue is that deposits have 2 limits: The first is how long after it has been first interacted with it will despawn, and the second is how many people it will allow to gather from it before despawning. The issue is that currently it seems to make that assessment when a new player interacts with it instead of when a player has already interacted with it. The reason for that design choice is to possibly allow a player to use Overload Mining Deposit on a node even after it has reached its limit, because imagine you go to farm an EZ-Mine node and it despawns when you gather from it before it lets you overload it to gather extra from it.
Still I’d go for that route, as in one it has reached either of its 2 limits it should immediately despawn instead of wait for a new player to interact with it.
