To make things extra fun and challenging I’m playing as a vegan hunter, using nuzlocke rules for my pets.
- I cannot eat meat
- I cannot kill animals except rare occasions such as maybe it’s sick/crazed or fell tainted etc. Protecting other animals or some justification.
- I cannot buy meat for any pets I get but dropped meat from hostile humanoids or chests is fine to feed them.
- I can only do quests I morally agree with. “go wipe out these indigenous trolls that were here before us and aren’t even attacking our gates” yeah no. I need to have a good reason in the quest text or obvious lore reason on Google why it’s ok.
- I can only ride a mechano strider on alliance or skeletal horse in horde. Or dropped mounts.
- I cannot buy leather. I can loot leather gear off enemies but I cannot repair it, as this would use leather to do in universe.
- I must switch to guns as presumably arrows use feathers. Farmed arrows would be fine.
- I can group with people very situationally. But I cannot help them kill animals or heal them ir anything. So it has to be a situational thing where I degroup soon after killing a quest npc or whatever
This basically means dungeon runs are out it’s not fair on others and even if its a dungeon with no animals I’m going to be undergeared and that’s not fair on them. - Pets must be rescued from enslavement/captivity. For example battle boars, zulian tigers. Kenneled dogs.
- When my pet dies, it’s either canonically dead, or it’s horribly wounded, I revive it and release it, having lost the right to this companion, and having failed to provide it a better life than it otherwise would have had. I haven’t had to cross this bridge yet.
- Likewise. When this happens I have lost the right to get the same animal from the same area. Ie no two pets from the same source. This also raises the stakes and stops you sacrificing pets as they are limited supply.
- Chest or enemy dropped leather or even leather from sentient creatures like black dragons is fine. But I cannot sell it it buy more.
- No spider silk, leather backpacks etc. Except for nerubian spider sourced items and other weird loopholes.
- I can sell leather items as this reduces the demand for leather products to be made, but I cannot buy them or even be gifted them as this takes then out circulation and encourages more to be made.
