Venari sockets

Once you unlock sockets from venari you should be able to buy them on alts. They would still have to pay the 7200 stygia but wouldnt have to go through the pain of rep grinding. Once is enough. Lets make shadowlands an alt friendly place.

Socketing gear by Ven’ari is minmaxing at its finest. Alt is an alt, it shouldn’t be your second main. If you want a second main, then you have to grind everything as on your original character. I am fine with that.

You don’t need sockets on your alts. Lol. It’s just a way of minmaxing and giving you extra content to improve your main.

Socketing is a minmaxing? When you socket up the whole gear it will give you so much extra stat like another ring or back or something smaller item. If anything its a must have thing.

It is minmaxing though, it’s structured like a reward for a huge grind in the Maw. Blizzard obviously didn’t intend every random char you have to get sockets on everything.

It’s basically what differentiates your alt from your main, the character on which you spend more time and effort will have certain things that alts can’t have.

Excuse me while I laugh. You’re not in no world first guild, nor are you doing 20+ mythic+. Having sockets on your gear isn’t going to determine whether you clear content or not.

Is this sh** mandatory? I’m so done with that stupid maw, I simply hate being there.

I am ambivalent with venari :grimacing:

this whole system needs to die in a fire and old system of pre-defined sockets needs to come back.

They ruined jc in WOD by completely removing predefined sockets from gear, to the point where they randomly spawn on maybe 1 in 10 items if that. On top of warforging titanforging and all that other nonsense.

And now they reduced all loot drop rates in the game by 2/3 but forgot to buff socket proc rate, so sockets are even bigger rarity than before. I don’t have a single socket on gear. Not even one after playing for 2 months.

And then they have the courtesy of allowing you to socket gear after a massively long grind in one of the most anti-fun zones ever created in this game. In 8.3 it was visions, needed 5-6 full clears of 5 mask visions for a single socket too.

No, this is not a good system.

Actually good points, Blizzard really loves to gatekeep things behind unfun content. Their idea that you should be forced to do unfun things (like farming stygia) in order to make your character stronger goes against the spirit of gaming in general.

If your game isn’t fun, you’re doing it wrong.

God help us. I don’t get why people think like this.

“Must have”

Yeah because you know a lot more with 2 normal boss kill and 2x 9m+ clear.
You don’t have to do those, just wait till the avg player get the chance to buy those after that you will be the minority who don’t have it and your dps will go under the avarage. If I socket up my whole gear that would give me 224 extra mastery which is huge, like another trinket with 100% uptime. Or 224 extra versatility whihc would mean a lot in pvp.

Right now its still not that common but a few week/month and the avarge player will have the rep for it and start to buy the socket and you will see that.

Heres an idea: let venari on exalted sell a token for alts that doubles rep earned and make us resist eye of the jailer.

Thats the average mentality in game. Everyone want the best so they can get the highest chance to clear the content. No one would pick a weak player if there is an option to pick a good one.

Except you do need them in high rated pvp on alts, ~100 versa is significant difference

I just want back the old socketing system.Cause my JW is so useless right now XD like why is JW still creating sockets when you can’t sell them like back in the day

I don’t do PvE anymore, but I’ve been playing the game for 13+ years, and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that 3 gem slots isn’t going to make you kill a boss on HC mode. If you’re progressing/struggling on doing the content you do, then there’s improvements you can make to yourself than just getting 3 gems. Sorry to burst your bubble. :joy:

A bad driver, isn’t going to be successful and win a race no matter how fast your car can go.

Except when the road is a straight road with no turns, then he will.

I think the basic philosophy for alt design should be this:- no alt has the right to be more powerful than somebody else’s current main in the current expack just because they cleared certain content on their own main.

So, no, no sockets. And no catch-up gear above basic “current” gear, no short-cuts for conduits or legos and no honour currency across all chars (as other players have asked for on the forums recently).

This should be a thing.
