Vendetta vs Symbols/dance

Sin have Vendetta, Sub have SB. As Sub in M+ between bosses I’m forced to push Shadow Blades if I want to keep up with the dmg, I guess it may be the same or similair with Sin. I think the big dmg/cldw abilities just work that way. You rather don’t wont to keep it until bosses only.

well, both dance and sb arent locked to a single target like vendetta and sin shiv are even tho sb cd is longer.

I think you missed what they are getting at.

It’s not that they are holding onto a cooldown.

The issue is that if you use shadowblades. You have the buff. Regardless if a target dies in seconds or not.

Vendetta is a TARGET debuff that only applies to 1 target. So you are almost forced to hold onto it for a mob that will last it’s full duration (boss for example)

Shadowblades can be used across a full pack pull or more depending on circumstances.

Vendetta is used for single target. And if that mob dies in 2sec. The whole debuff is gone. Unlike shadowblades.

Make vendetta a personal buff. Not a debuff on a target.

True. That’s the difference.

Compared to Vendetta, Shadow Blades is not only much more fun and dynamic, it offers you a lot of flexibility, as it directly affects your rotation, works as a buff, and can be used in all combat situations. Vendetta is just inferior in all aspects. The Spectral sight thing never comes into play, it’s about as useful as flavor text on grey items.

The Shiv change for Assassination is so stupid. They could’ve just made Toxic Blade a baseline ability, and left Shiv as the Utility Ability it should be. Instead, they force the Spec to use a Utility Ability as part of the rotation, effectively taking out any decision making you could’ve had.

i diddnt look much into sin so far, but isnt shiv basicially shiv + toxic blade in 1 spell now?

Toxic blade makes shiv a dps rotation ability.

Tied to the utility of the buffed poison.

Making it an awkward “utility now vs damage I don’t need right now” choice.

yeah i hate that. it only comes up in mythic+ really so i don’t notice it as much (cause in raid you have lots of other people who can soothe and in pvp you play 60% crippling anyway so it’s fine), but having soothe on shiv and then also having shiv be a dps cooldown feels so stupid.

In PvP it sucks big time too. Having the option of when you want to get rid of an Enrage, or do a strong Slow, that can make or break the play. When the ability contributes heavily in your burst potential, it’s just a choice this one Spec doesn’t have anymore. Considering Assassination has the least Control options anyways, and nothing to compensate for that, it’s just very unsatisfying.

don’t really think it matters so much in pvp, since only assa has this problem and assa plays master poisoner with crippling poison anyway, so we’re talking 60% normal crippling and 70% shiv.
