Wrecking throw does 500% damage to absorb shields.
That’s what broke is shield instantly, hard to read the text because of poor quality but I believe it says it hit for 208k
I believe that should be tuned down…
And also the damage that happened in the first few globals within stormbolt isn’t acceptable either.
Should Spear of Bastion do damage in pvp ?
Don’t worry, this issue will be fixed in patch 10.0.5 where they remove Bonedust Brew and decrease the absorb of Life Cocoon by 40%.

I would agree, that Wrecking Throw is totally busted with its damage to shields and should be drastically reduced. I also think one shots aren’t fun, but not sure how Arms generate those, so I am not a reliable source here of how to balance them.
Damage concern aside, I think it’s a clip that the crowd of people who feel like melee have too much mobility can point to as an example.
Starts at range. Negated with mobility ability.
Uses gate. Negated with mobility ability.
And there’s no discernable time delay from ranged to ranged position, despite the fact that the Warrior just crossed 80 yards of movement.
Add in the on-demand burst damage and you know what the forum thread topics will be for the next while.
He just charged twice, that’s it. The gate was 5 felt like yards in total.
Markers didn’t exactly tried to avoid warrior reaching him at all cost. Neither did he just port the first stun to avoid spear, even though the warrior already popped all his offensive cooldowns while charging him.
I mean, I can’t blame him, he didn’t expect what will happen there. None of us did. But he could have definitely done better!

But not mentioning that the monk had his whole arsenal of movement and get aways still available. Or that the gate wasn’t even well placed.
You are trumping here, Look at the warrior, he charged twice and the monk was dead. Their mobility is so broken. Lets make a wall and the melees will pay for it!

I just looked at the video and concluded that some people will definitely see this as another example of melee being unchecked, in that long ongoing discussion on that matter.
And then I noted that the damage was quite bursty as well.
Add the two and you know what people will talk about.

Like… we can pretend arms is the problem in the game and whatever but truth be told every damn class has something that does stuff like this.
TL;DR:
Damage is too high in the game once again, if you like SL oneshots this will be your favourite expansion. If not you better pass on this one as well.
And that is the issue here, as you concluded like someone, who doesn’t know anything about PvP.
The issue wasn’t that the warrior was able to reach the monk. The issue was, that Wrecking Throw got rid of cocoon in a split second!
Without that, the monk would have gotten away with all his mobility and port, as he was already on stun dr and spear was out. There was nothing left to keep him in place.
Like I said, he simply didn’t expect his cocoon to fall off instantly. Nobody of us did. And something like this shouldn’t happen. He reacted properly and still died there. But not because of melee gap closer, but because of broken Wrecking Throw.
The difference is i only posted a video from some guy and asked for other peoples opinions. Bt your tiny demon hunter brain can’t comprehend that. <3
Wait, Wrecking Throw is its own thing? I thought it was tied to Shattering Throw? Is this a Dragonlands specific change or am I just out of the loop?
