Best aesthetics too; feels kinda TBC-ish in a good way; and it’s consistently that.
They could have deleted the rest and have a Venthyr expansion.

I’ve played through the campaign, honestly I cannot recall anything interesting about it at all. Nothing about any other covenants lore either.
Only speaking for myself here.
That said, it’s good that you enjoy the lore!
I don’t remember a 1 single quests that stucked with me
and it doesn’t matter if it’s venthyr or bastion or maldraxxus or even nigh fae
i’m avoiding shadowlands zones as much as possible and only go there when doing my weekly
otherwise i’m afking or doing random stuff in old world
i found out that is more wow to me.
patiently waiting to end this crap expansion
Revendreth is by far the best zone for me. It felt like coming home - a gothic England. I loved finding the horses, gargoyles and carriages to ferry you around before flying. Thoroughly enjoyed the story as well, plus the armour sets are all pretty good.
Yet, I find that the Necrolords are the most wholesome bunch. Whilst I’m not keen on icky constructs, I do love the skeletal aesthetics, the liches, skeletal warriors and just how whacky and accepting they all are. Plus, the second to last chapter(?) of the covenant story was by far the most fun for me. Just such a shame everything is green… would like more purple.
So far I finished 3/4 cov campaigns (Kyrian left and will do it next week when I hit renown 80 with Venth).
I finished last night Venthyr and it’s good, but think it good be much better. Love vampires/necro things (favourite game Heroes Might and Magic 3 - Necropolis Castle, lol) and think they could expand the story much more, it has so much potential.
For me, Necro has better storyline, at least I enjoyed more even if I prefer red over green color. And also both stories are related which I like, too.
Fae was the first cov I did, like it, too, but at the other way. They just feel really separate and that they doesn’t belog there, love that druidi-ish style.
Will see how Kyrian will go. I am not an optimist, so far they felt kind a weak. Everybody helping them and they are struggling with their past too much. Will see next weekend when I get some free time and start the campaign.
For tmogs (Shaman) - Necro and Venthyr sharing 1st place. Necro better gear, Venthyr better mounts and I am planning to combine those
For spells (Shaman) - Kyrian has the most shamanistic spell (totem), but Vethyr has the most satisfying one. Necro the most ueseful for my playstyle and Fae shapeshift!
There is always time for tea if Theotar is nearby!
I wanted to be a Vent originally but the flexibility of the Necro ability and the fact I love rock music made me pick that one…
Venthyr’s still a close second for its aesthetics. Watch the shoes!
I can’t get my head around that Theotar VIP guest sideshow they have going on there. I haven’t even touched it. Does it do anything good. Much prefer the NF garden thing they done.
I dont like the art of venthyr at all. I mean the NPCs… they could be much better as vampires. If they aimed t owin the award of the most ugly vampires ever designed (and yet not even scary…) then they got it right.
I disagree. Most of the Venthyr NPCs look terrible to me, absolute crap models both in looks and animation. The base is horrid and annoying too.
Some cool amors though and the Gargoyles are nice.
Revendreth as a zone is pretty nice too.
For me Vent are borring and not a single campaign part really stood out. Also navigating that zone before flying was horrible.
Honestly for me Bastion Kyrian campaign felt the best, and if I can remember some of the quests/parts I did - that means it was good.
Fae felt completely random, I just couldn’t follow it at all. One part you chase Tyrande and doing torghast, other part all of the sudden you do business with Bwomsandi, then you help geh cupple, then you kill some local bad guys. I don’t know, it wasn’t very good.
Haven’t done necrolords yet, but my mage will be the one to do it.
I think it’s between Maldraxxus and Revendreth for best aesthetics and story/characters but they’re an absolute nightmare to navigate due to the layout and the excessive amount of mobs so I hate going to them. Bastion and Ardenweald have the opposite problem. Much easier to navigate those zones but the storylines are a snooze fest.
This thread made me think and re-evaluate, that I might have underrated necro a bit. Not that I like it much or that it’s not a “we have to have Klingons[orcs] in the expansion again” kind of thing but it’s probably better than the storylines of something like Fae’s (boring) or Kyrian’s (superficial-like) though the aesthetics are still ugly to me (but that’s subjective).
Ardenweald gives me headaches, it’s pretty but too sparkly and vivid and not great for someone with sensory sensitivity. The Fae themselves I admit wanting to strangle, they’re rather condescending “You’re a -special- one aren’t you?” I’ll give you special
And as much as I love Bwonsamdi and Night Elves, the story was the most boring for me, I simply cannot stand the Fae.
Bastion is by far the most beautiful for me and I quite enjoy the Greek theme but as with all Lawful Good based factions, they’re too pretentious for my liking. Especially dislike how they treat the Stewards.
Yeah they were pretty obnoxious. I suspect they initially wanted to go for a similar behavior to gnomes and goblins, but they backtracked and made them condescending.
No Kyrian has. Venthyr are for twilight fans.
If that were true then the vampires would look pretty.
It’s actually interesting how harsh they look.
venthyr are boring and a caricature of britain (16th?? 17th ?? century) gets tiring after farming famu 30 times.
I’m hoping that in the endgame the Stewards in Bastion rise up and overthrow their “Greek” overlords and take over the zone!
