Shamans, Druids and Paladins are probably next in line to become available to most (or all) races. But a lot of people have pointed out issues with several races, when it comes to becoming attuned with forces like Nature and the Light.
One of them is the Void Elves.
But here’s an easy fix. Solidify the Silver Covenant’s role within the Alliance, as a force of Arcane and the Light, working for the unification of a strong Quel’dorei people.
Let Vereesa Windrunner reach out to the Void Elves who are willing to undergo a ritual, blessing them with the Light as a way to contain and control the maddening whispers from the Void.
Void Elves remain Void Elves, but there’s now a sensible explanation for Paladins and Holy Priests. Alleria and Vereesa, the two remaining Windrunner sisters (at least until they bring Sylvanas back from the Maw), lead the outcast Void Elves and the Silver Covenant together.
How are Lightforged Warlocks explained on the PTR? Are they touched on at all? If not i think we can safely say that Velf Paladins are just going to pop up one day, and that will be that.
Edit: Wasn’t there some kind of Shadow magic that could mimic the Light? I think i heard about it all the way back in vanilla or TBC. I am pretty sure it was originally the explanation of how undead holy priests worked. Blizzard could just use that for Velves to explain Paladins.
They arent infused with it. They only wield it (and only very limited like Chaos Bolt. Green Fire Quest wouldnt be canon for LF Draenei warlocks). So as far as the race is concerned it can work. Warlocks arent Demon Hunters after all.
Their willingness to use said demons could be explained because they fought alongside Demons against the Legion during Argus. And some LF Draenei may be shaken in their believe after the stunt Xe’ra tried to pull (even Velen was opposed to her and agreed with Illidan)
The Void has the same attributes as the Light and vise versa (the void just has more of the baddies use its power). Forsaken can also wield the light (and heal themselves), it just causes them immense pain which as a result makes most forsaken avoid the light if possible.
Right, but then what about the eventual Lightforged Demon Hunter? I am pretty sure Blizzard did say they were going give every race access to every class eventually. Maybe DH and Evokers will be the exception.
Paladins are kinda like the Light version of DH, no? And Void Elves are infused with Void magic to the point some of them grow extra… extremities. Would mixing the two not just go boom? Like the Sunwell almost did when Alleria just got close to it?
Maybe Velf Paladins will only be Paladins for game play purposes, but in lore might be a seperate thing altogether? Like how Tauren paladins are actually just sun druids. And Zandalari Paladins were priests of Rezan, or something of the kind.
Hell, maybe Velf Paladins could even have purple/violet spell effects. Similar to how Belf Paladins used to have red colored judgment and seal(s). Maybe the wings were red too, i forget.
Yeah if they pull that one then I will wholeheartedly flame the ever living poop out of them again since that wouldnt make sense whatsoever given established lore (either the Light cleanses the Fel or the Fel cleanses the Light turning them into regular Draenei DHs. Plus I also see an tattoo and eye issue)
No. DHs are infused with the Fel. They arent devoted to it. For them its the most effective tool to kill Demons (fel erases ones soul. Meaning a demon killed by a DH cant be reborn in the twisting nether if said DH can use fel. Not every DH has absorbed a demon (every player has however))
Paladins are completely devoted to the light to the point of being fanatics (especially retribution paladins who embody the Wrath of the Light). Its their religion. Their life even.
Velfs infused with Fel would explode yes. If Fel comes into contact with Void it explodes.
Sunwell is Light. Not fel. And the issue with the Sunwell was that Alleria attracted the void when she was near it. Basically the beings in the Void sensed her being near and used her as conduit of sorts to reach the sunwell. Which is why she and every velf are forbidden from going near it on the threat of execution.
You can give them the Paladin class. But instead of the light they will use Void (as I said both share the same attributes. So they could do everything a light wielder could do while wielding the void)
