Exactly. Before tanks had armor/dodge/defense/block, but since blizzard went for the simplification of everything tanks got hit the hardest and basically now they only have stamina (which only depends on ilevl) and versa which is lame since its basically one stat. Even mastery is sad for tank specs as it is now. Id rather see tanks being more designed around crit/haste/mastery with crit giving you critical block or something, haste reduces CD of defensive cds and mastery giving unique useful stuff to every tank spec rather than a flat % damage reduction from versa.
The problem is that its a flat stat that is the only thing you can pick for mitigation. No uniqueness, no fun, just a lame stat stick. Id rather having it completely removed from PvE and as I mentioned above, make other stats more useful for tanks so they will get some choice.
Just donāt bring back the parry counter⦠expertise sucked.
Changing gems every time i got a new piece of gear if i had to replace/add the stat was annoying.
It is fun for PvE crit builds but in PvP stat that would give you crit damage together with crit build would make oneshot meta even worse with current balance, so rather dont use it in PvP (for now at least).
Its okay. If you played feral you would also get every single loot piece without competition which is nice. Casters had it the worst since you had warlocks mages and boomkin killing each other for a trinket or bis weapon.
Vers is literally a survival changer for tanks, hell no i donāt want that removed. You literally become immortal if your a tank and just stack up as much vers as possible.
Instead of removing things always why do you not ask for things to be reworked and improved like any reasonable person would . To much has been removed already for the game due to obtuse posts like this .
It is a bit boring, sure, and I dont like how its a bit of a must in PVP but I dont really see a clever replacement for it right now to advocate full removal.
You should look what mastery does for Prot paladin.
Vers is bad for tanks it is a boring stat and has no end vers is not fun, being block capped was fun because all the different defensive stats mattered in combination, not a 1 catch-all stat that works for physical magical and increases your damage at the same time.
Ver is acculy more importen then Cirt becourse is caped as 45% it meens there is a 55% chance u get screved over when it does not Cirt but Ver damage increase is a100% garantie āRaw damage statā same time it reduse ur damage take keeps you alive ā¦
Then i guess you and me must have had a different experience of Vers. Because i have noticed i am able to be literally almost be unkillable alot more the more amount of vers i have. In harder current Content. Content.
It sucks to play a tank when you get no vers pieces. They should just increase the tanks damage reduction instead of making it RNG fiesta whether you can tank comfortably or not.
Itās just a flat boring stat. Mastery at least has an impact on a specific spell or ability that makes it more interesting in that regard for some specs.
Iād be hesitant to remove mastery since it then just defaults items to being crit and haste unless hit sees a return or a different third stat gets introduced. TBC and WotLK had some stats that even while having more of a RPG feel to them probably arenāt ones many would enjoy today.
Considering they had to reduce crit damage due to introducing multistrike then iām also not too sure if theyāll come up with new stats that feel engaging and arenāt flat percentage based damage increases.
That hardly matters since itās just a matter of tuning the other stats and the surrounding game aspects. Itās whatās being done with mastery already since some specs get a higher percentage boost per point than others.
Stat weights and damage done/taken can easily be changed but the same canāt be said for having a flat boring stat.
The only issue with removing versa is needing to have some kind of replacement to make it a choice between different gear pieces and iām not all too certain what they can come up with that hasnāt been done already.
Maybe iām remembering wrong, but tanks take extra dmg in PVP, they can just tweak that to account for the extra mitigation, so the net worth is zero in the end.
Please, Blizzard doesnāt tune anything. Everything can be easily tuned and yet you have classes doing 35% more single target and double/quadruple the aoe of others. Sure versa is boring, but itās important for tanks and many classes. You are trying to fix things that arenāt really broken and making the things that are already broken harder to balance.
