Haven’t read updates on shadowlands ; but anyone knows which mage spec is viable for 2v2 and 3v3 from your perspective ?
I heard fire is nerfed alot.

frost is the best at the moment.
Arcane can blow people up but having only 1 spell school makes you too vulnerable.
fire is pretty bad at the moment but since you still got 3 cc schools, even fire is playable with a class that can kill people easily e.g. sub rogue

Fire isn’t that bad - Venruki already said that most of testing was done on low ilvl gear but his recent tests with higher ilvl show that Fire might be on par with Frost or even better.

shhh us mages are undercover right now, all specs are for sure viable, I would check out some yt vids, the double meteor and double orb build ^^ <3 if I had to recommend anything id say fire and frost if ur just starting out, arcane can be distruptive if you learn how to play it! gl!

From what players say Arcane is great when played with meele specs like Warrior, WW, Rogue when Frost seems to be the one to go in castercleaves like MLX, Shatter, Frozen Chicken, Ele/Mage/X. Fire is probably the most versatile.

Exactly! That’s correct; however frost is really versatile too just from how hard it is to connect / gap close a frost mage, but yeah I don’t disagree with what you said, what spec do you think you will start learning first? ^^
I’ll probably try frost first because my friends rather play casters.
Good choice, If I could recommend any spec I would say stick with frosts, I think its a little ahead of the other specs

This is probably the one thing to take into consideration since. Fire often is the most gear dependant of the specs, even after the WoD overhaul that made it less reliant on crit.
Everyone remembers like everyone played Frost and Arcane in early S1 and then suddenly fire took over out of nowhere.
Mages were never undercover. We all know how broken your class was since, ehm, actually since game release! The problem is that there is nobody willing to change it at blizzard.
Like locks never were xD I remind you that Warlock is the class that won the most Blizzcons xD
P.S.:
I counted once more it’s actually Shaman who won most Blizzcons
There will always be 1 top tier mage specc i can guarantee u that.
