Just tried visions with my 420ilvl hunter, managed to clear 4 zones with rank 1 essences I got while doing some random quests, lvl 1 cloak and low ilvl weapon and not knowing what my spells even do…
Can’t do that much on this shammy with better ilvl, weapons, essences, azerite traits, cloak and being much better at shammy than hunter…

well yea, from my shammy, obviously… but I did those runs right now, and still got further with that hunter than shaman
Yes, hunters in our guild were 5 masking it before it was even a consideration for me.

it favours both at different places, some areas/bosses go better as ele, some as enha, so I switch specs as needed, but BM hunter is favoured everywhere
A BM hunter is kinda a ranged without the downsides of a ranged.
You mean BM hunter is the DH of ranged DPS 
only downside melee have (for me) is leaden foot and the last boss in SW i imagine is easier as ranged

IMO it does not favor healer at all, the only pros of heal is that elite are mega squishy & on a good twisted appendage proc most elite will die before even being able to do anything. … but except this, trash takes forever to die, hit super hard. Also some heal lack toolkit to handle mechanic properly ( such as kick for Umbric)
Tank is a bit different, most tank are almost invincible ( well any but monk) & handle trash with ease. Boss are however issues because they take sometimes too long to die when no luck with corruption proc. Also Twilight Devastation is incredible … but has a lot of variance & sometimes backfire ( I just did my run with my BDK & this treacherous beam triggered at the worst moment against rexxar, I had 4 pigs at the same time … well I would have died but a second beam wiped them all & saved me !)
I still find 5 masks run the easiest with my melee dps alts ( DH & shamelee)
I say its tons easier as windwalker compared to brewmaster. Yes, I tested on a i477 brewmaster/472 windwalker. It is quite possible that I am mentally not as sharp, but tanks dps is too low on bosses, so I have to swap dps anyway to handle sanity drains better.

level 1 cloak + 4 zones? What did you neglect to tell us?
I do not believe you cleared 4 zones with a 420 hunter with a rank 1 cloak. If you did, make a video out of it, and I’ll commend you. But I really do not believe you did with those stats, ESPECIALLY when you claim that on your main character you’re unable to do a 4 zone clear with a rank 9 cloak and with decent gear.
Please don’t make atrocious hyperbole’s to support an argument like this. Hunters are better at visions than most classes, yes, but not by that margin. Every single spec in the game can 5 mask full clear a vision, especially at rank 15 cloak, so it’s kind of ridiculous to be arguing for class changes because class A is better at this particular activity (which doesn’t matter since the difficulty caps at 5 masks!).
I tried my brm like once, he was something like 440 when i first tried bonus zones on him, i dont like ww so that wasnt a choice, and man i did pretty well than with mw, much better than brm, i even used tank trinkets/wep cuz i had no others.
Ofc this was done without masks and did only 2 side zones cuz of gear, cloak rank amd research progresion. Still i find it much easier on healers/tanks than dps

I do 5 mask as guardian, feels easier for me with twilight dev2 plus i use the mechagon trinket to hit bosses. With gift up it hit rexxar for around 400k. Think i had gift up anyway…cant remember now.
I know what you mean with accidental td on rexxar. Good thing i also got multiple procs and just deleted all the boars haha.
Anyway i dont feel like dps on bosses is a problem as a tank. I use crucible of flame plus the mechagon trinket to help delete them and it works wonders for me.
And ofc trash melts and my hp usually doesnt move at all.
For OP: no way you done 4 zones with rank 1 cloak and 420 ilvl hunter. I just wont believe it. No way you would have enough sanity to finish that.
Something fishy here… I went with my alliance 440 Hunter, rank 1 cloak, 2-3 rank essences… And after the 2 easy zones i had to run to main boss, as i was drained. Used all orbs…
I can do 5 mask full clear using only one orb on my main Hunter, so i know how to play Hunter at least somehow decently. I main BM Hunter.
If u did 4 zones with the setup you mentioned than you play like a 4k player good… And at that level of goodness you should crunch a 5 mask Vision like a cracker with any geared class/spec.
Oh I didn’t mean visions are difficult on tank characters: They are perfectly doable: I am 5 mask-ing on my BDK, war prot & BRM just fine for a few weeks now
It is just that the pace of the run is a bit different than going with a dps: boss on average live longer & some boss which are very hard to line up with gift are quite annoying ( Mr void torrent being the prime example) whereas on dps you just hold one or two cooldown & they just despawn.
It kinda depends on how much do you know your class. I mean mages are crying in forums but one of the first solo 5 mask was a mage. I’ve seen multiple locks pullling all the area then killing everything in 3 seconds.
Even for the classes doesn’t have ccs , rank 15 cloak is pretty much makes visions a joke. Even a resto shaman probably can do 5 mask solo clear with rank 15 cloak
