Why do people still use third party voice chats with the ingame voice chat available? some even still use old buggy ones and force you to join or they kick you.
Yesterday my group used Discord and i had to use the mic, but you need to install the app so you can push to talk, it doesn’t work on browser, and by doing so, it crashed my internet and my pc became slow, i couldn’t log ingame for a bit until i fixed it, and of course, i got replaced.
Discord also sometimes just won’t allow you to join a specific chat even tho it’s working normaly on every other chat.
Same happens when some players want to use Teamspeak, some servers don’t connect and you can’t tell why.
The ingame voice chat is so much better :
It just comes with the game.
Doesn’t slow your pc.
The push to talk is for free.
You can more easily check who’s on it and who isn’t, rather than counting people and doing fake readychecks.
The worst bug that can happen to it can be fixed with a quick relog.
So i don’t get why people still use other voice chat apps and force you to do so, even tho the ingame one is much better.
The ingame voice is working. I did it last week too with pugging BoD, but the discord one is just so much more stable and better. You also have better options in volume per player, and i do not seem to get my own mic-sensibility right. Discord prefered for now.
I’ve only used the in game one a couple of times but the main issue I found was if you leave a group you get disconnected, if you log another character you get disconnected and so on.
Discord just has way more flexibility. You don’t have to reconnect all the time. You have a place where you can post information/links/screenshots etc. It just has better quality and functionality.
