I know voice acting all the quests in the game with all the different characters would be expensive and since add-ons that tried doing that got shut down I thought about it, why not pay one or a few voice actors to read all the old quest texts in the old zones, like an audiobook narrator.
I recently listened to the “Traveller” audiobook by Ramon de ocampo and maybe hiring someone like him to read them like he did with traveller doing voices would be perfect for that.
I believe Voice Acting in a game like WoW is extremely important which Blizzard seems to agree on looking at how it improved with Legion and BFA and makes people a lot more immersed in the World and would maybe result in more people caring about the lore.
I believe Bellular tried to do it for free as an addon and Blizz didn’t allow it. Someone correct me if I’m wrong. I don’t remember why they didn’t allow it maybe they hate the F word
Oh, I kind of remember that.
It would seem Blizzard saw it as custom story / narrative and classified it as an expansion asset opposed to an addon.
I can kind of see where theyre coming from, it reminds me of the free Skyrim downloads that add mini stories. Only difference is Skyrim allowed free user content. WoW does not.
It was actually because of copyright reason, they did this before and after the Bellular project too I even took part in one of the projects, but yeah they had to shut it down because of bad Copyright law in the US
Yes please, I’m tired of being attacked by monsters while I read quests texts, having to stop, kill them, move to somewhere safe far from the quest giver, stop, and finally reading what that dude was trying to tell me
