I feel compelled to use a cowl to hide the hair…
Give me some light hair please
You arent pathetic at all. I play for similar reasons but mostly lore
Yeah. About the reply on the hoodies…uhm, as a warrior I cannot use a hoodie - at least the hairstyles are alright.
They need more hairstyles without the tentacles and natural colours like white and black. I wouldn’t mind seeing a blonde in there either for the High elf advocates.
while they are at it can they make better noses too XD
This s so very true, and I honestly believe this is the reason why void elves gt natural skins and blue eyes. We’re almost there now.
There’s no need to alter the lore. The same reasons why some void elves don’t have their skin altered by the void should apply to the hair. This goes for tendrils as well. Also, high elves could be a full sub-option for the void elves, similar to how Wildhammer dwarfs are available through regular dwarfs, or Farraki trolls are available through Darkspear trolls.
I think it is pretty darned likely that ‘natural’ hair colours will be rolled out to Voidies. I can’t see any value in -not- doing so, to be honest, and that, in itself, does not actually detract from the Blood Elves. Now if it was -everything- the Blood Elves have, I’d be like “Whoah hang on a minute” but actual hair colour is not going to cause an issue that I can see.
Actually no, I tell a lie, there is one hair colour I could see being a problem, and that is the red one. I don’t mean Auburn, like say, Liadrin, but the actual Crimson one. I -think- I remember reading that the actual Crimson one is the Blood Elves deliberately dying their hair that colour out of ‘patriotism’, in the same way that many of them changed their surnames after The Fall.
That therefore would seem a weird thing for ‘High’ Elves to do, but that is the only hair colour I could see not making lore sense. Elves in general do seem to be big on grandiose gestures like that, so possibly some High Elves may have dyed their hair blue, but a) You can kind of have Blue hair by using some of the Void Elf colours anyway,
more importantly b) is that unlike in our society where black is a colour of mourning (at least in the West) it seems that for Thalassian Elves, Red is indeed the colour of mourning. Them adopting it would be weird, given that they rather distinctly distanced themselves from their Kin.
As we see in WC3, the predilection for Red motifs is actually nothing to do with the Horde at all, as the Blood Elves adopt it years before they even contemplate joining the Horde.
I don’t totally agree there. I think the skin options should be for those who want to play a High Elf on Alliance. I don’t think -actual- Void Elves should look like that. We don’t -yet- know whether any new Void Elves can even be created. Locus Walker is teaching those Silvermoon Scholars and High Elf Wayfarers -about- the Void. Not how to become Void Elves, because the whole point is that nobody knows. It was a magical accident. One entity knew what was happening in that ritual, and he is famously dead.
Locus Walker -does- know how to train someone to become a similar entity to Alleria (Who is -different- from other Void Elves) but then that is reliant on finding a Dark Naaru, to directly replicate that method.
Problem is, there are now, Zero Naaru on Azeroth. In fact, there is only -One- Naaru we know of, which is A’dal, in Shattrath. A’dal is quite famously not a Dark Naaru. In theory, given enough torment and ‘negative vibes’, it could be turned into one, but that has two problems.
a) That is a lot of effort to go to to create -One- Void Elf.
b) That means going to war with the Scryers -and- the Aldor.
The Instant the Scryers and Aldor get on your case, so do the Blood Elves and the Draenei. Can’t imagine the Lightforged being happy with it either.
Given that currently Lor’themar Theron is the default ruler of the Horde, and that Velen and Turalyon are kind of …big deals this would mean Locus Walker going to War with both Horde and Alliance just to create -One- Void Elf similar to Alleria.
Yeah. I can’t see him doing that.
-However-
What might be a more interesting option is if Alleria was able to tutor those existing Void Elves into how to manage their connection with the Void, to a degree that she can, as after all, she was -prepared- for what happened, whereas they famously were not.
That would explain actual Void Elves with normal skins.
True facts. Still an Enemy race to the Horde, and unwelcome. ( Won’t get too RP into it, but yeah, Farraki are not good people to try and play, RP-wise)
But yeah, I think a few simple changes, and You pretty much have High Elves on Alliance, which is fine and dandy.
I wonder if they will add any customizations in 9.1 at all or they will solely focus on just gameplay changes. It would be great if they did not neglect Allied race customizations. And Velfs would be so happy with just some hairstyles and colours, the rest would really just be bonuses. So it’s not something that’s difficult to add.
Ok Moving my ideas here.
Hmm.
Maybe the answer would be that the Ren’dorai and the Silver Covenant High elves team up. Have an outpost together in stormwind. with a Silver covenant vendor with updated unicorn mount and hippogryphon and tabard in either the stormwind outpost or the void elf city. and to see Vereesa side by side with her sister Alleria.
Maybe the heritage armor should have been similar to Ren’dorai’s leader Alleria Windrunner, I said similar not exact copy and the shoulder piece instead of feather its had void feathers. Something similar to Kyrian mail armor.
https://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screenshots/normal/926665.jpg
And 3 different color versions like Mag’har armor. Ren’dorai version, Silver covenant version and Alliance version. In honoring their leader Alleria (She is or will be anyway and I do think she should be the one that leads the Alliance High Elves). (I do like the void wings on the heritage armor and maybe that could be a cloak so it can fit to any armor.) A robed version and unrobed version like the blood elves heritage armor. and the headpiece should be a hood that also enhance the glow of the void elf eyes than a bucket for a helmet.
I do believe that the Alliance High Elves needed magic to call their own but the void maybe wasn’t the answer but I guess there wasn’t much for blizzard to choose from, well maybe the nexus arcane magic in northrend. BUt there is always the Titanforge that can purge the void and change/or alter DNA of the subject if blizzard wants to make the void elves to something else in the future.
Now for hair color, well If blizzards chooses not to give blood elf hair color to void elves. Well maybe these will work and will be diffrent from blood elves and still keep the theme of void elf. Besides the void elves are blood elves/Draenai/Night elves combined into one anyway. I hope the links work.
http://prettyflydraenei.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/hair.jpg
For hair styles, well in case nobody knows Void elf female do already have few blood elf hairstyles, Blizzard just added extra hair strains to the style so it would look different. However the Male void elves have all new hairstyles and none blood elf hairstyle. But blizzard could make some of the male blood elf hairstyles slightly different. If not well if blizzard make new long hairstyles that look abit elvish I would be fine with that. Also the Tentacles should be a toggle so if one does not want Tentacles in their Hair. And I do miss the eyeglow that the void elves had when they first introduced at the end of Legion. Sad blizzard removed the eyeglow for all races that had it.
For tattoo’s I would like to see farstriders tattoo (WAIT let me finish) but would be slightly different and more edgy that what blood elves would get. And with void colors to the tattoo’s. There are blood elf exiles joining the void elves and some might have been Farstriders, considering Ren’dorais was blood elves first and as it seems to be that some blood elves are leaving silvermoon to join the Ren’dorai (as seen in Telogrus Rift. And we do know there has been conflicts within the silvermoon city since TBC.)
Also the Void form should be customisable in the character creation screen or at the barbershop, so if one want to have Alleria void form or full void form or less void form the player should have access to that.
More Named NPC to join the ranks of the Ren’dorai like Alleria goes to allerian stronghold and recruits the High elves there to the Ren’dorai and the high elves there get updated looks. And Alleria should get a new title that represents her as the leader of the void elves and is followed by 2 void elf bodyguards. And see more void elves in human/Alliance outposts and maybe void elf farmers. to give the feeling that they really are a race and not just a squad.
For a city well was thinking of that blizzard updated the Telogrus Rift of a bigger rock island north of the map that has crater/cavern that is large enogh to build a city and a forest and the creatures that lived on the planet (before sargeras destroyed it, survived and was changed/altered by the void) ( Just like the panthera from argus) and as we seen in the character creations for void elves, blizzard have changed the hunter pets from that void infused lizard to panthera. Could it be that blizzard is going to make/change the void elves to something between a void elf and high elf? Lets see if I find the link that one posted for Void elf city.
https://i.pinimg.com/originals/22/f8/40/22f840b9393df0c4b4155b28c4e9cd38.jpg
Or they could just take over a city that no race is using and rebuild it. Like there are many Night elf cites and outposts across azeroth that the night elves are not using anymore, haven’t for thousands of years like Dire maul or the city/outpost in north of the hinterlands. Or the void elves could take over the draenei city on argus in mac’aree that the draenei not using anymore. And it has everything. Void training area to the west and north west and a forest to the south and south east and is still on alien planet and you have azeroth in the sky and is also were Alleria did her training with void powers. And Alleria and the void elves can try and help the void broken there (The Krokul that lost control of the void powers)
I also hope the banner for void elves looks more something between Ren’dorai and Silver covenant in the future.
https://wow.zamimg.com/uploads/screenshots/normal/701164-void-elf.jpg
For paladin class, blizzard could make a fourth Spec for paladin. spec named Shadow were the paladin uses void powers similar to a shadow priest. Since paladin is just a different order of priests that used swords or hammers as weapons and heavy armor than a Staff and cloth robes. I know some people say that paladins are the holiest of holy, but explain then Arthas? And there as also Paladins that joined the twilight hammer in cataclysm and should have been using void powers instead but I guess blizzard wouldn’t put resources in making new paladins skills with void powers. That would give void elves paladin class that uses void powers. Not only that but it would also open the door for forsaken paladin and Mag’har orc paladin. Well many would say that forsaken can’t be paladin because the light hurts the undead, but what if they were void paladins using void powers and there is forsaken priests. For mag’har well they would not be paladins but warriors that uses void powers so they be similar to a paladin just like the tauren paladin is not really a paladin but close. The tauren believe in and uses the sun power. and if you say Mag’har can’t be paladins, well they wouldn’t be priests either (well only shadow priests) since they hate everything with the light since they lost their planet to the forces of the light.
Well these are some ideas for void elves. I too wanted Silver covenant High elves as playable race but it seems void elves is what blizzard was willing to give us, even if they were rushed decision and not well thought out race since it was just a “Squad” than a race it felt weird playing one and with no city either, all they have is few tents on a space rock in middle of nowhere. I know that mag’har orcs don’t have either but they are refugees from dreanor and same that they would be just a squad but blizzard could update the valley of honor for them with iron horde building and chop off more of the mountain and build a iron horde furnace with mag’har orc blacksmiths and green orc blacksmiths working together and have some Gronns and Ogres that came with the mag’har from Draenor. Could move the fox people to valley of wisdom, i think they have more in common with the taurens.
Those who ask for void elves to get more corruption options with more tentacles and more eyes on the head, don’t really want a void “elf”. They want this race.

Also I don’t think that void elves would have turned to ethereals, Considering when the ethereal said “What shall you become?”. Means he had “No Idea” what was going to happen to the blood elves using the device on them. But the proof can be found in Stormsong valley. Where Kul tiran humans infused themselves with the void and turned into Mind flayers or K’thir as they are called in wow. So too would the blood elves had become if the process had finished the transformation for the Umbric and his followers. Also gives us an insight on how the Void Lords looks like, if we ever meet them.
I do like seeing the Crystalsong Forest and hearing its music.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wG_0NevdvzI
If the Void elves could have a forest like this that Glows in the dark and this Mystic music that Crystalsong forest where their city would be would be awsome. I mean there is so much more that blizzard could have done to make the Void Elves more interesting.
It is strange that Alleria Windrunner didn’t teach the silver covenant first about the void, since they are the first she meets through Vereesa Windrunner before Alleria decided to go to silvermoon and try to convince Silvermoon to return to Alliance. But we all know how that turned out. And when there has been conflict in silvermoon between the blood elves citizens since TBC and now that Alleria Windrunner (Their hero is back since the second war) would probably have stirred the pot even more. Hench why we see Blood elves in Telogrus Rift. Could also indicate that not all Blood Elves agreed to leave the alliance or Lor’themar decision to join the horde. And also not all blood elves joined in the horde’s wars against the alliance or other factions. They stayed within Silvermoon/Quel’thalas like Halduron Brightwing, he does not care about the horde but he does care about Silvermoon and its security as he has always done. If you remember the Zul’aman patch, He did not ask the horde for help to deal with the forest trolls. He ask Vereesa Windrunner for help which Lor’themar was not too happy about. Would Halduron Brightwing join the Alliance? I don’t think so as I said He only cares about Silvermoon and Quel’thalas unless Lor’themar makes the decision but I don’t think that will ever happend now. Their ties to the horde are rooted now and even more so now with Thalyssra and the Nightborne.
Why people ask for Silvermoon to become alliance again wel that is Blizzards fault. They been teasing that since vanilla and now Alleria has in her dialog that “Silvermoon will be Alliance again…I know it” and same with Umbric “Silvermoon will be alliance again”. Instead they should had Dialog that “Silvermoon have gone their own way, we must do so aswell and look to the future and find a new home”. Same goes for the blood elves can’t say anymore “Remember the sunwell” Since the Sunwell has been reignited with a new power the Light. So blood elves mourning is basically over. They had their revenge against the Scourge, Arthas and the sunwell has reignited so they should move on and look to the future, not the past. And what blizzard could have (well yes rebuild silvermoon which has been long overdue) change the the blood elves to “Sun elves”, since the sunwell is more of the Light now and is changing the blood elves to more Gray/yellow skins elves with Golden/yellow eyes (much like the Lightforged Draenai except for the Glowing tattoos since they had to be Lightforged to get that). Moving away from being High/blood elves. Remove the fel crystals from the city when they do update silvermoon since they no longer need them. And if blizzard really wanted to Blood elves and void elves to look diffrent, they should not given blue and purple eyes to blood elves. Instead let void elves have blue and purple due to the void and green and gold/yellow and later on the blood elves have light yellow (almost white eyes) and gold eyes as they are moving away from fel magic. that they are evolving away from being high elves.
Same with void elves that they could have started with High elf customization and the Umbrics follower options the blue and purple skins ofcourse. And as time passes the High elves customization will get updated with Normal skin with a tint of either blue or purple or pink purple. So they also are evolving for a new path towards the future but as the Void elves were rushed decision and poorly executed and become only a “Squad” and not a race made the void elves feel weird and not belonging to Warcraft world. The silver covenant has been with us since wrath and left an imprint with many players hearts over the years. Altough a small squad they been fighting with us Alliance for many years. Blizzard could have done the same for Umbric and his followers. There was cannon long ago that a group of blood elves was exiled from silvermoon and called themshelves silvermoon exiles but later on blizzard uncannon them. But we (alliance) could have interacted with them and helped out the alliance without being apart of the alliance and years later they join the alliance I think would been more acceptable but allas that’s not what blizzard did, instead they came from nowhere and changed the story of Dar’Khan Drathir.
I know that Nightborne was rushed too but was long planned to be part of the horde since a journalist wanted to play Night elf on the horde side. Now I don’t disagree that Nightborne joined the horde. It gave the players to play a Dark elf/Drow in the horde cause of their unique model. However it sad blizzard choosed to make them based of Night elf instead of ingame Nightborne which they could have, But Im guessing its because they had less resources and less staff at the time when working with BFA since most were working on the mobile games. You can see it in the BFA expansion there is alot, alot that was not finished and rushed and removed due to lack of time and the Story of BFA would have been completely different than the end results. But I do agree that Nightborne and Lightforged should get new customizations first before the other allied races since Nightborne and Lightforged are pretty much on the same bench when it comes to customazations.
Every race should get different colors for their heritage armor, i don’t get why only Mag’har have this privilege.
I think they wanted to compensate their horrible racials this way.
You have been making very similar arguments to what I have been advocating for on mmo-champion. There, I’ve been saying that, apart from giving some high elven hairstyles and hair colours to Void elves, to make the Alliance more appealing, Void elves could be given their own capital. Either by expanding Telogrus Rift with its own starter questing zone and capital which will be inspired by gold and navy blue decor, as well as purple crystals, or by turning Allerian Stronghold in Terrokar into a questing area and capital for Void elves. Be it Telogrus or Allerian stronghold, both will be inhabited by Void elves and High elves (such as Silver covenant High elves), who will have teamed up as a united force (Alleria and Vereesa ARE sisters after all, in the same faction, so why not make it more official?).
Additionally, a great new idea was made in mmo-champion about High elves, Blood elves, Nightborne etc. ‘‘Veneer’’ skins for races. By Veneer skins we mean a complete cosmetic choice for your race that changes your race’s theme and appearance. For example, Void elves could obtain a Veneer skin for High elves, where their light skin colours, High elven hairstyles and hair colours will be available, and it could even include different ability animations to suggest their faith to the Light. Players should be able to swap at any time between the Void elf and the High elf Veneer skins. Blood elves could obtain a Veneer skin for Dark Rangers where they will have more badass choices available to them, such as pale skin shades, red glowing eyes, dark ranger transmog etc.
Night elves could get an Arcane veneer whereupon they get some arcane tattoos, glowing limbs and some arcane animations, and Nightborne get their own veneer where they can choose warmer skin colours, bright hair colours, and maybe even be able to transform into an animal during travel. Ofcourse adding a Veneer skin for every race in the game will require imagination and might take a while, but I do not see why we could not begin with those. Also, this will mean Void elves and Blood elves will have their own versions of High elves while still keeping their unique customizations through void and dark ranger appearances.
I propose all that are in favour of Void elves receiving High elven customization instead of a complete separate race and want to see new capitals for Void elves and Night elves to participate in a thread proposing all of these ideas
Very Well.
I’ve said it before, but I just want the voidy tentacles to be a more neutral colour like a bright white or something. I love the existing colour hair but I’d like white tentacles (instead of the bluey ones) .
I transmog (a lot) and making the armour look okay is almost impossible with the voidy hair styles when they have blue/purple tentacles. I almost always choose to have blue or purple hair (when you can see it) but often choose hairsyles without the tentacles because of their colour.
If they did ever give us an option to have the tentacles glowy white, I’d rarely be without a tentacle hair do! I’m a bit ‘meh’ about blonde hair because my void elves almost always have blue hair (this one I don’t remember because she has a helm on but my frost mage currently has navy blue long hair) but a lot of people seem to want it.
How would a Void elf fire mage look with blue hair though? A bit odd I would think. I want blonde because I really like that colour but I feel it would be too daft to switch Horde just to have blonde hair? I actually race changed my Nightborne mage to Blood elf but I don’t play it because none from my close friend circle wants to play Horde at this moment. I just want to be able to be happy while playing my Void elf with a white or/and blonde shade on
Entropic Emprace works as a secondary skin colour. As such, it might even become customisable through the barber shop (or in other ways). An option to use only the primary skin colour, assuming one uses one of the natural skin tones, could be a way to allow high elves to circumvent void transformations.
Also, replacing void tendrils with braids would do the same for hair, especially when choosing natural hair colours.
I would be kinda happy if the velf hairstyles were added to belves, some of them look great and fit a dark caster like this shadow priest I write this on. I would rather have some long purple hair instead of red or blonde, even though those are my fav shades. If I bargain with the forces of darkness, I want my looks to reflect it. All-out black doesn’t cut it.
For void elves the idea of hair colors is a bit odd. Imagine you paint it to blonde but the dark tentacles ruin it. So it’s either the tentacles need to go, or change the color with the hair’s. Regardless, bright colors don’t fit velves at all, so don’t try to look like a flashy paladin. You’ll be laughed at. I’ve seen blondes being covered in full dark clothes and they were sexy, but that still doesn’t justify the customisation option.
For the record, the barbies should be sharing hairstyles, they are the same kin. Almost all of them fit both races at least in a few cases.
TL;DR: void elf colors on belf is yay, belf colors on velf is nay.
That’s a bit confusing. So, you are asking for Void elf stuff for your Belf. But, you don’t want us to have any blonde color at all on the Velfs? That would be a big problem for me, I am advocating solely with at least 1 blonde hair color in mind for my Velf.
It’s about the option to play as high elves. Also, there’s no reason why the skin should remain normal while the hair doesn’t.
Replace tendrils with braids, either as a separate option, or tied to the brighter hair colours.
