Srsly why not let us not ask what we want you can do the same you know? You can ask things for allied races that you want? But nooooooo here you are complaining about the other faction is asking. Yep you are so proud of your self right?
No one cares about half the stuff in that list and if Blizzard does give in on hair colors and ear length, which I personally believe they will at some point then the hairstyles will be the only, literally only visual cue that tells the races apart. And before you bring up the jewelry Iâll just say that the men are excluded from those options which makes it a useless thing to list either way.
And to me thatâs just disgusting. Alliance would in that scenario get an entire Horde race with no strings attached with the added bonus of a second visual theme to it while I and many other Belf mains are sitting here mightily unhappy with the stuff, or lack of stuff rather that weâre getting since it doesnât live up to the fantasy of the race that Blizzard has told since WC3.
It actually feels like the race Iâm playing is being demoted to Allied race status when I look at what the future is likely to bring for Void Elves.
It makes sense that blood elves get the blue eyes though. It is originally our eye color and since sunwell is restored blood elves can slowly restore their eyecolor as well. Those differences you meantioned really âŠnoone cares. What we blood elves want is mostly just to look different from you void elves. We arent neutral race we should have cosmetic differences.
If void elves start looking exactly like us we should start demanding that nightborne can look exactly like night elves then to make it fair⊠wonder if you alliance players would like to have night elves on horde.
Your having this fear for no reason. Blizzard so far havenât added the hair colors yet for a reason⊠I believe they will decide not to give it to Velves, and I agree with you the hair colors should be excluded.
I for one am actually happy With the current customization theyâve shown for us. In fact, Iâm very very excited. I have never been more excited for a Expansion.
Point is Blizzard is STILL adding stuff to both the allied races and the core races UNTIL Shadowlands comes. We have months away, and they are still updating stuff. We canât simply judge based on what we see right now. Obviously theyâll add more stuff for the Nightborne, same goes towards belves (I really hope). I already made a forum topic listing all the customization I would like to see added towards belves, and some of the belf players listed some cool and helpful info. Hopefully blizzard sees it and adds it in.
I doubt anyone would care if they borrowed skin from the Night elves. Nightborne only have 3 skins currently, so Iâm sure blizzard probably has this idea in mind
I might just make a moocow since taurens got better customizations than blood elves
I suppose all we can do is wait and see if more is added and what happens.
You obviously have more faith in Blizzard than I do.
Which is strange given how their actions over the past years should give everyone pause.
Better to expect the worst so you donât feel too disappointed when the inevitable happens.
Well, to be fair⊠actual void elves only got the cool purple eyes so far. I donât count the pale skin as a void elf customisation and would never use it on a char thatâs supposed to be a void elf. Itâs a high elf customisation, and it displeases me that people will go âvoid elves got so much already, they shouldnât be asking for more!â while the skins are in fact taking away from the voidy aesthetic and may result in void elf roleplay dying altogether.
High elf fans are stealing my race and it seems all customisations we get may be aimed at them instead of pleasing the actual void elf players. The chances of getting Nâzoth-like eyes are slim now.
Stealing? I beg to differ. Some of us just donât like blue skin. But void colored hair? Sure.
I feel like everyone is fearing for the worse, when nothing happened yet. Itâs just fans asking for stuff, It doesnât mean itâs actually going to happen.
Itâs unfair to refer to us as not void elves, if we choose the natural skin. Each void elf is different than the other. Some are more controlling the void, while others are more appearing to be the void.
Alleria Windruner is an example, and she is refered to as a void elf in the books.
Maybe not a golden blonde (and most certainly not reds and oranges), but a silver/platinum blonde, straight up silver and dark and cool browns and blacks should be there, as well as the removal of the tentacles with these hair colors.
Not really. You see any new Void elves will be like how Alleria is. Normal looking with void powers but not purple skin and hair. The current void elves became void elves after that accident, they were almost transformed into void beings but that was stopped halfway through by Alleria hence their purple skin and hair. In order to become a void elf you need to do what Alleria did, train and use the void carefully and not blindly like how Umbric did.
I canât say I like the void hair. My high elf character was going to become a void elf the minute they were introduced. But due to the story of how they were exiled blood elves that didnât fit my characters lore. And I wanted my High Elf to become a void elf in the same way Alleria did. By training not being almost transformed into a void being. Hence why I would like to keep her platinum blonde hair and pale skin while having void powers. That will show my High/Void elf has mastered the void like her mentor. (This isnât that character, this character is not afraid to go further into the void hence why she will have purple eyes in Shadowlands and my shadow priest that white with a bit of purple tint in them)
Edit: My High Elf character hasnât been active in the story since Legion since she is more neutral and I decided she also wonât play a part in Shadowlands because she will be busy fighting the invading scourge on Azeroth.
This time it aimed for Alliance I believe not for Horde alts. I think it is a Horde tactic to make it as if Alliance really like Void elfes more than High elfes.
It is not our fault that Blizzard didnât give us High elves to begin with.
I am not a Horde main and I love Void Elves.
Give blood elves velf hairs/colours/skins in return pls.
I would be happy with that wouldnt bother me at all .
I maintain that red should stay with Blood Elves.
Void Elves already have blue shades which curiously match the old High Elf NPCs.
The thread is about hair colour Alleria hair is a tone VELFs can not get atm which is annoying to say the least if you wish to roleplay her as allaince .
I believe the best thing would be for the races to be as distinct as possible, so I wouldnât like that at all. Giving one or two natural colours that are not an exact match to blood elf colours is already blurring that line, but ok, letâs call it a compromise. Though I sincerely doubt the most fanatical high elf fans will accept it.
I just hope all these new high elf options for void elves wonât result on less void options being added, if any. Male void elves donât have a single decent hairstyle with void tentacles, the void hair colours need more diversity, and I would like some void corruption on them.

I would love the second skin colour of that concept, the eyes and corruptions are amazing.
So yeah, less high elf and more void elf for me
That line has already been a blurry one as far as this race is concerned. We need to stop pretending Blood Elves/Thalassin Elves are comparable to, say, Orcs. They arenât, and they have always been represented in the game as a species which crosses faction lines.
Even the proper Horde Blood Elves have flirted with the idea of joining the Alliance in the past.
They canât really be distinct, and it would make no sense for that to be the case. Void Elves are Silvermoon Blood Elves from the Horde.
Void Elves arenât even a race, because they are just Blood Elves with an extra flavour of shadow in them. It makes perfect sense for the degree of that voidiness to be variable aesthetically, especially with newer recruits that arenât part of the original âcrack teamâ.
Anyway no matter how people argue things, Nightborne ARE based on Night Elves and share much with them. Alliance got the Thalassian Elf model and Horde got the Night Elf model.
It could also easily be argued that the fact the Horde one is more distinct is an advantage to them. To me that is neither here nor there, because there is a perfectly good explanation as to why Alliance effectively get High Elves (very close to now even).
No one would mistake nightborne for night elves. Canât take you seriously if you even compare the two cases. Thereâs no other case of Blizzard copying an existing race to the other faction. And no, pandarens arenât copying from one faction to the other, they always started neutral.
The interesting thing would be to take this opportunity to further develop the void theme of void elves, instead of taking away the visual identity of another race, one that doesnât belong to the same faction. I donât want the void elf customization options for blood elves any more than I want blood elf options for void elves. Different races should be, well, different.
