Hey guys so my main is priest… ive been race changing for fun and night elf is just insane for shackles and avoiding cc.
However im kinda bored with nelf xD considering playing sp but im wondering if void elf racial blink is worth it?
as sp for kiting or baiting around cliff etc?
Void elf is kinda good, got the strenght and got weakness compared to night elves.
With shadowpriest the benefit is while being trained you don’t have delay on spell and on the racial proc you got extra healing and damage that can help in you are on vampiric embrace ( the racial proc does not impact absorb spells) and it’s sadly a proc that represent 1.5% of your damage and healing.
For shadowpriest you got some win but i think it’s better to be night elves or human.
Howerver if you play a healer, especially disco priest, the benefit is real
The racial is a 3mn cooldown for the blink, but can save you from certain situation
when you got a melee and you need to run or reach a point, the racial allow you to get some distance and then to door of shadow away without being interrumpted , this situation is often used if you have to stop a drink or to apply a fear on ennmy healer and you don’t need to CC dps
you also use the slow blink ( yes since the portal move slow as the speed of running while not being slow) to reach behind pillar, so like place yourself at 20 yard of a pillar and then stop moving so the other people will not see the need to reapply a slow and you can use racial and kite behind pillar while healing yourself.
the racial blink is the only way to secure a fear versus ennemy holy priest if you are disco, due to greater fade and chatise, disco is always caught by holy fear and always take the first CC chain compared to holy priest. With the racial blind you can bait them and get them by surprise to apply fear or avoiding it ( depend on your experience to avoid a fear)
the blink is also good versus death knight, even if the blink move for 4 seconds in 20 yzrd range , the blink accept a teleport for like 40 yard if line of sight, 20 yard if out of sight. If you got caught by abomination limb, pre cast your racial and bait the death grip to go back directly at 40 yard and grip one of your allies from the dk that has been already gripped from abomination limb.
the racial proc is really good since it can increase your hots and damage overtime while you are CC, i got situation when i Dotted all ennemy team, got a racial proc and since the racial proc apply on attonement, i got get 2.5% more attonement healing while being CC. But ofc it’s a proc so don’t base yourself on it.
Void elves is really cool if you got full haste and you fake cast, that the best racial to fake cast due you are sure to do not be delayed on casting and you can get your full benefit of your haste, mostly if you got 2 school type of spell the racial is a great quality of life.
Now the negative part if you come from night elves :
you will be obliged to take honor talent if you expect to take double shackles to counter both
you will have to wait 8 seconds before a drink
you don’t have shadowmelt to decline a spell ( like hoj or chaos bolt ( easier to avoid))
So it depend on your need, i don’t play SP but if you are very often being trained as shadowpriest, human can be an option thank to their racial stun you can basically run relentless trinket for better survival and getting extra versa is also good for PvP.
In reality I guess it can be used as a trade to force an interrupt
( offensively responding to an cd with voidelfport door of shadows into an other direction )
but if you door away the cc after + train might stop you from reactivating the voidelfport
It’s not too bad but NE is still the best race in the current meta for anything so NE is still better. Unfortunately Shadow Meld requires some skill to be used properly and to it’s maximum potential.
Nah, people will be cced when you attempt to kill so there is no point in having pushback immunity. Teleport is also mostly useless and especially useless now since you are ranged-caster.
This Warrior was Void Elf during BfA, I remember winning matches by using teleport while I’m rooted-frost novad etc but as I said it is generally useless.
The void elf spell pushback immunity is really good, and the blink is situationally good if you pre-use it before you get melted. But nightelf is generally better in more situations.
If the blink is worth it. Well it’s not affected by silence. So if you for example, get rooted in a solar beam, it allows you to get out of it. Besides that it can be a bit tricky to use, but it has potential in some situations.
On top of that, you’ll get a slight buff in form of the 5% bonus proc, which affects both healing and dmg. (Procs very well!)
And if that’s not enough then you won’t suffer any delays on your casts either, when being attacked by a mele dps.
So potentially they could also make great shadow priests.
