Void eruption vs dark acsension

Hi all,

I wanted to know what the differences are if we compare eruption vs acsension.

In playing with dark acsension at the moment and to be honest it looks to me that the play style has more sustained damage. Every 1 min we have that burst opportunity while the eruption has 2 min cd. But i see alot of player playing with the eruption build.

Is there some logic behind it? What do you prefer in pvp? Seems also that i do alot more damage in the acsension build though.

Hope you all can share your opinion on this one. Is there really big differences?

Voidform grants access to void bolt which does some damage damage, and makes all targets take damage as if they had 3 dots on them for your mastery so you can still deal damage with direct damage spells if your dots get dispelled or you never applied all 3 before you started trying to burst someone.

Don’t know if dark ascension is still worth it tbh. It’s only 1 min CD yes, but it only buffs direct dmg while voidform gives you more instant cast potential with void bolts and the 10% overall buff to any shadow dmg and the mastery bonus. It also lasts potentially longer which offsets the longer CD. You can also play with driven to madness against melee comps to have it back faster when they train you. Imo since the dmg output is now more tied to dots dark ascension also falls behind further. Maybe it needs a buff. I’d be kinda sad when this choice needs becomes obsolete in the future.

I like that looks better than void form and its way cooler. also it makes your devouring hit harder when you instant cast it.

I play with it since adds dies to fast to even play void form and i hate void bolt it makes no sense in dps rotations never has, every time you press it. If feels like a dps loses.
