I read all I could about void magic from the wiki and heard out some of my friends on discord about their views of it, but I´m specifically looking for an answer how does someone who´s either corrupted or attuned into the dark force get more of it to grow stronger?
Does it involve sacrifices of life and souls, like how warlocks obtain more power from fel magic? Or is it more complex than that?
I think that once you have opened the door to the Void it’s about maintaining the balance of how much you can use without going insane. The more you tap into it the more influence the Old gods will have on your mind so you don’t want to have all the powers you can have because then you’ll lose yourself to the whispers and go mad, maybe even go full Void and become a Void being. If you compare it with Fel on a basic level, Fel is eating life, Void is eating the mind.
That’s how I’ve understood it at least
Originally thought that you can sate your loss of sanity and hunger that the void inflicts upon you by feeding on other living beings, like how warlocks revitalize themselves with life drain spell that is partially shadow magic.
Due to what I read from wowpedia´s description of the void being a vampiric cosmic force, feeding on energy and life in the cosmos.
Mmm I don’t think so, never seen any indication to that, it’s more a matter of strong mentality. Like for Void elves who constantly need to be aware and not fall to the whispers else they’d go mad. I think Warlocks Drain life is Necromantic magic and not really Void, though the Void can heal to some extend as we can see with Shadowmend and Vampiric Embrace.
Void magic is not only about ignoring voices in your head, it’s also about maintaining your sanity in the face of insurmountable cosmic forces. One day you’re a normal scholar, the next you learn that your planet is a giant egg housing an infant god and there are entities out in the cosmos that want to (and very much can) eat the egg. How would you react if this was irrefutably proven to you as fact?
