Was going to post this last week but thought I was imaging it, but doing some old raids notice items I had in void storage has the need to collect appearance blue text, so I go to the void storage guy and 4 characters and its asking me to buy it again for 100g but I log into a character I havn’t played in years and his void storage is in tact and gear is there but not on my Hunter, Shaman, Warrior or Druid was there some sort of bug I missed reading about?
I was the type of person to keep cool looking weapons and gears even before transmog was a thing. Just found it odd did it happen to anyone else?
No I mean on each character I went to Void storage its like I never owned void storage on each of them? But I know I had them styles like the squid staff from karazhan for an example.
You don’t need to keep hold of an item to be able to mog to it, haven’t had to since ~legion IIRC.
I think stuff gets stripped of all qualities when they go into void storage, perhaps it gets removed from the appearance collection too IDK, though that would be odd considering void storage was added to store items for transmog.
If I were you I’d make a ticket just to get a proper opinion.
Void storage has largely been discarded and superseded by the appearances tab. Like I said, it was originally intended to be used for storing items for mogging (which is why the unlock, deposit and withdrawal fees are there, to make it as impractical as possible for people who just want to use it as an extra bank), and now that it’s been made redundant it’s largely been forgotten about.
Chances are some dev accidentally did something that played merry hell with the system, which never came apparent due to lack of use or something. Your best bet would probably (if you can remember the item names) be to use item recovery self-service and move them into your regular bank. If you can’t remember names then chances are they are lost forever, even if you can get a GM’s help.
Had the same thing happen on my priest.
I was certain I had put the staff of metanoia into the storage. But when I looked on my priest about a year ago, no access.
Went to look on all my characters, none of them had access. Had to unlock it on each of them. I didn’t, so I don’t know if it might actually be in there if I do unlock it though.
That for some reason it got locked again.
