VRYKUL as a playable race would be best thing

Reading all those outcries about the high elves past months I was always thinking WHY TF?!?!

The real race, that is in game for so long and would make complete sense as allied race would be… VRYKUL (who would have guessed from title?)

Now hear me out on this one:

  1. Vrykul are just awesome brutal race, let’s be real, Viking style, we had them basically in Legion too, as well as in WotLK

  2. from lore perspective there were Vrykuls that didn’t like their children being born as humans and were killing them (these could be HORDE representatives) and also those that tried save their malformed children (Ally representatives)

  3. Delete Vulperas and Mechagnomes for this race = everybody wins… kind of

But seriously now… since I logged after first W3 experience I wanted to have Demon Hunter as playable race, and thought as a kid that hunter is DH (yes I was kiddo back then, didn’t understand half the things)… it was not and they brought it in Legion…
yep it took some time…

what else? racials!
Vrykul could have Hardiness trait as orc, both ally and horde could benefit from PvP passive trait,
second active trait, whatever, from warhorn, to deathbringer’s will trinket (secondary stats enhancement, maybe versatility? all classes benefit from vers)

no questions asked, and therefore ally/horde balance could once again get (maybe) in some really good state - I would for sure race change few of my characters immediately… and thanks to Vikings, AC Valhalla, there is always someone who likes, and would cherish Viking culture implemented in game

and where would we start? raid boat - raiding ally/horde city for example

so now I am calling out for real deal race, that had struggles because of curse of flesh, and also was split into two camps, ones that hated humans and ones that saved them (ew)

Nah fam, Vrykul gotta be Alliance only.

And youd have to prove your heritage from Scandinavia to play one.

The vrykul were cursed with the curse of flesh… and pretty much hates every living thing… especially Humans  so i doubt they wanna be allies

True, this used to be the case. However in Legion there were a few examples where vrykul were impressed with us and warriors especially made an impression on them with the order hall. So there is an opening they could use.
The story is also very fluid and they could do something simple like Horde/ally finds a vrykul tribe we prove out worth to and recruit them cause reasons. Remember when we went to alternate past-future dreanor to recruit our frienemies from 2 expansions prior?

They are too big.

And that’s basically the end of the discussion.

We already have the deformed vrykuls.

You can make one already.

All pieces are sold in AH’s, weapon tho from WOTLK dungeons

Taurens are also big and noone bats an eye

there were vrykuls that hated and killed their deformed children - horde side ez
and those that saved their deformed children and shipped them to eastern kingdoms - ally

So yeah so far everything is easily covered, easier than some lame vulperas and mechagnomes

Vrykuls and Ogres are needed

We dont need no tall Smurfs in to wow game …

No give us high elves and val’kyrs.

They’re not nearly as big as Vrykul.

Imo they’d be better off just putting Vrykul type beards, makeup, hair and such customization into the game for humans and kul’tirans.

*Proceeds to scream at doors for being too small*

vrykul for the alliance , ogres for the horde. Makes perfect sense for a round of savage allied races

I mean, those are NPC’s… scaling down could be possible - Deathbringer’s will trinket was changing us into Vrykul as well and it was not that big

In lore Tauren are way bigger than they are as playable characters so i don’t think that would really be any problem at all.

No thanks. I don’t see the appeal of another human spin off. They’d basically occupy a similar niche to kul Tirans as “big strong humans” except they’re Vikings instead of pirates. Hardly something I’d like to see an AR slot go on tbh.

I know, but aren’t they essentially just slightly bigger humans then?
Like Kul’Tirans.

I think it’s just too much of the same type of thing then tbh (although, yeah Vrykul look very ‘kul’ - sorry for the pun).

In that case vrykul for the horde (ally got blood elves) and ogres for ally… BAM  jk

ally would have two fat allied races, but I am fine with that Kappa

as for the point of similar to humans, yeah kinda, but vrykuls still could have option to not be only flesh version (simple skin tone) and there we go, non flesh cursed vrykuls… but yea I would gladly exchange kul tirans as well for vrykul as they are just cool
btw nice pun
