That they were not added for just fanservice ?
I mean, it’s pretty obvious that they were eventually going to join the Horde, their whole way of life does line up very well.

Hold up, a certain group of players asking for a certain playable race and them getting it despite the protests of others, wouldn’t that be fanservice for that group?

Buddy, they were slated to be an Allied Race before most people even knew they existed. There’s no fanservice involved, it’s just Blizzard having a grasp of basic marketing.

None of those races came out during expansion focused on adding tons of new races.
How shocking that expansion which added 6 new races added Horde-aligned race from one of its new zones into playable race roster.

even aside from that, i’m heavily struggling rn to think of any single race that’d generate much of a playerbase while also being worth adding, after the Legion ARs, that didn’t get added.

High elves, but that’s irrelevant now that they are practically being added, and maybe Eredar.
Everything else like ogres, Broken or tuskarr are dream of loud minority, majority of players go for races that don’t look like Yoda after 347th drug trip.

those would’ve just shuffled the playerbase from Void Elves to High Elves. But indeed, those are coming in anyway.
For the rest, yeah, p much. You’d have a decent count of man’ari if they were playable but the others would end up like highmountain and dark iron did

What about demon hunters? A pain to play against in PvP, often a pain to have in your group and a ton of DH roleplay is… of questionable quality.
Oh yeah but DH is not a race.
Gameplay wise DH’s are one of the worst additions to the game ever and I would 100% remove them for the health of the game because they are a prime example of degenerate gameplay plaguing this game.

They kinda are! They’re clearly not elves. If an elf with tentacles and purple hair can be called a race, then so can a blind elf with horns and Fel tattoos.

Demon Hunters are concidered elves (Give or take). Just because they have horns and some nice tattoos doesn’t make them different race.
