Waiting simulator

There was a time in a life of everyone playing wow, time of excitement, expectations, happiness, joy sometimes even frustrations. For everyone this may occur in a different period of their time playing wow but one thing wow never was (in a long past) … boring.

Look what is happening right now, lets say you like to do any major content in the game and you may even be somehow good in it.
You come home from work, your wife is on business trip and you have few hours left before she returns home, so you decide to push rating in the arena a little bit, or complete that last 2 dungeons for key-master achievement, or maybe finally get that boss on mythic difficulty who drops your bis.

So you log in, no one from your guild is online, and most of your ppl on friend list don’t play anymore.
So you join a solo shuffle, its cool only 60cr to duelist, that’s doable … and then you are waiting after 34 minutes shuffle pops, yes, I even forgot i logged in for that as i watched latest news, you play caster, got into full melee lobby, but it’s OK it’s always like that, you are doing your best you somehow manage to win 3 games … then in the last round someone just leaves the lobby you get -9 rating

OK that was a waste of time, lets try to find some party, you are waiting in group finder everyone is looking for glad xp, so you are just waiting you can’t sign both 2s and 3s so you just hope someone will answer your call. After another 15minutes and 20declined requests you give up and try to login some BG.

and here we go again, you are waiting after 20minutes you get into the game, after an hour of mostly waiting you finally can play the game a little bit … wait, why are all the names of opposite teams just squares? after 5 minutes you know … your entire team gets destroyed because everyone is playing mostly “solo” in BG and you are facing some insane premade from belarus/russia.

well that wasnt “fun” … lets try some m+

So you go again, you are missing 3 dungeons to get the key master, unfortunately you don’t have that key, even if that mount reward is ugly as hell, you just want to finish this.

So you are waiting again, getting declined over and over, when after another 10-15 minutes you are in a group, first invite you are missing heal and tank.
So you are waiting to leader to somehow build this group, it goes surprisingly “fast” only 8 more minutes.
You fly to the dungeon, you summon everyone, while waiting for party members to click on the summon for a minute or two.
You are inside, you are waiting a bit for everyone to buff up, here it is, ready check … finally some action. Waiting just 10 more seconds.

You go … top the damage meters, kick the casts, using your defensives, everything goes great when you accidentally didn’t noticed purple whirl under the purple carpet at the third boss, that killed you and basically wiped the entire group. You play lock, so you soul stoned the healer, who wrote in the chat: “don’t respawn pls” … unfortunately he wasn’t fast enough 2 guys are already running … from the beginning of the dungeon. So you are waiting for them for few more minutes.

You are killing that boss and rushing to the last, just when someone stoops, and goes offline…
So you are waiting again … for him to come back online, nothing is happening, group is disbanded and you just realized you have wasted an hour for nothing.

Ok … One more hour until my wife gets home, let me try that raid boss for the chance to get my special trinket. So you get back into the group finder, waiting to get invited, you cant find the group you are looking for so you decided to create your own, but you need 4th boss, but newer mind, at leas I play a little bit.

After 20minutes you get your group, tanks heals everything is ready. You are killing those 3 bosses like nothing, EASY … when after that third boss your tank and healer decided to thank you for the run but they just wanted to kill this boss and they leave the group. So you are waiting again after 10 more minutes you get your party, you summon new guys, buff them readycheck … countdown …

… the doors open with your wife standing there with her big beautiful smile asking for a welcome kiss and help with her 2 bags.

Life is short, why are we spending it on mostly waiting and … why the hell are we paying for that

Thank you for your attention if you read until the end, I guess, i just wanted to express myself and my experience with the waiting simulator we all call “world of warcraft”

I do predominantly world content and I don’t have that issue. I do of course sign up for things sometimes… Heroic dungeons, LFR that sort of thing. But as I’m signed up I go do world content. I don’t sit around and do nothing; that’s boring.

Conclusion: There’s things you can do while you ‘wait’.

that is true, when you enjoy doing it, and when you haven’t been doing that 100times already

I have to agree, it depends wholly on what content you are doing.

Some activities do require a lot of waiting around and others don’t. Some allow you to do things while you are queued and others you have to just wait.

So it depends.

Fair enough. But isn’t there something you enjoy besides those activities you mentioned?

Im sorry i but glanced the txt but i saw between lines everything that made me dislike pvp in dragonflight aswell and thats all cause of shuffle

One does not play dps without wait 30-60min between games and one does not play 2/3s as well either as before as shuffle deflated all other brachets by vacuuming big part of community into these long ques in shuffle

Now heals do not enjoy shuffle, theyre boycoting it hence also even longer ques than need to. Everything comes down to shuffle and it ruined my interest on pvp on this game. Thank you for reading

i used to enjoy world content as well, but unfortunately currently none of it helps me achieve some relevant in-game goals, cool t-mog /enchant from pvp, tier set, satisfaction off clearing that boss … those are just far more interesting to do /have.

i used to farm mounts, i don’t do that anymore i have 200of them and most of them are useless in dragon isles

basically rewards from world content don’t interest me as much after a year of doing it

…wait you’re serious?
The game had dead period ALWAYS.
When it was the end of TBC and wrath beta was out, people we just waiting.
At the tail end of TotC and end of WotlK, still boring.
End of pandaria again? 1y+ wait time, that was boring.
…and the list goes on.

At the end of each patch/expansion there is a boring wait time for the next one, when people have done more or less what they want and just do not care about logging in.

At least now they actually pump content at a good steady rate like legion, and we do not have to wait 8-9 months for a single raid tier.

It was more of a waiting simulator in the past than it is now.

I would like to not have to wait 60min to get to play one lobby of shuffle, as i only play pvp i have always content through expansion everytime i log in

As now game is made into this shuffle as being the most dominant form for pvp which everyone plays the content is wait 40-60min for one lobby to play. This is boring, not like this :face_exhaling:

All of the pvp community was playing arenas/rbgs before the shuffle was released, and were whining about not having a solo queue.

Then blizzard actually listens to feedback, finds a way to introduce it into the game, and THEN players complain about 30-60 min queue.

Of course, since if someone can heal, instead of playing with randoms and having a bad experience, he would prefer to go and join a group where he can choose who he plays with. Leaving even less healers into the solo queue.

What blizzard should do for that? or better what could blizzard do to make YOU join as healer in the solo queue?

I play it to mog and then I don’t play it. I might get my other priest to 2k for better mmr for next season so I can get the mog faster.

For me to play it once I’ve gotten the mogs? They better make the matchmaking better. It’s absoloutely insane that there are DPS that aren’t pressing their defensives that are at 2200 rating. Why are they there. Why should we healers be forced into 0 rating games because of these people.

sir i play 4 healing specialiations, also ive been pvp enjoyer since vanil and the only soloq ive played after introduction of arenas from tbc were with private servers soloq systems, on privas the ques for dps were around 2-5min on soloq i enjoyed most cause it is different system than in retail

i also have to say i enjoyed shadowlands lfg into normal 2/3s than df solo shuffles, i think shuffles did more harm for retail than good

but on one thing you are right, ppl were asking soloq for +7 years, this werent exactly what they asked tho but i guess its something, i would prefer if they didnt add it at all tho, healers hate it and boycott the ques making it agony for dps with ques and annoying for heals to climb when their mmr pool is 4x more deflated than dps and could say you are doing 4x more trying to gain rating there as heal than as dps now so many new people just decide to not play at all and so on and so on, situation getting worse the longer it goes

so far blizzard hasnt done anything to address situation on healer mmrs i would also note, so the healer drought continues like this wall of txt. thank you for reading

Sorry, you lost me here.

I logged in, about 40 people were online in my guild, and I did a few keys with guildies. It was great.

I recommend checking out a few communities for both raiding and M+. The quality may not be top notch, but I am sure that they can get the job done until reasonable levels.

You seem to be playing a role that is very oversaturated, so you should not be surprised about long waiting times. You may have faster queues, atleast for raiding and M+, if you can play your tank spec.

I consider jobs a bigger waste of time than WoW. I’d never go on a business trip.

I have the same sentiment for “Rare” mobs – paying to idle.

I don’t mind long respawn rares if they had a 100% drop rate for their item… what I loathe are long respawn rares to ridiculous low drop rate, the worst culprit I found being Soundless for their mount (1% drop to an 8 hour spawn).

Imagine them doing that with the Time Lost Proto-Drake…

or you do it like this
https://ibb.co/vqVrcfj

if can’t then work on improving ur gameplay, the best way is to record ur arenas and watch them, analyze why and where u died or didn’t get a kill
pvp is about improving

World of warcraft was boring many times…and the boring state is the best time to play other games
stop limiting yourself to wow and if you do stop you will be rewarded with more enjoyable experience in this game

Nothing to stop you from doing world content while waiting, I’ve done a lot of dailies that way xD
