So, I wanted to report a character I suspect as being a bot, but I can’t whisper or find the character so there’s no way for me to use the right-click and report feature, and since Blizzard decided to make it easier to raise the dead than to reach support, here I am.
There is an email address you can report to I think it hacks@blizzard.com but you need to confirm that’s correct!!
Also please don’t give blizzard too much grief at the moment if you are struggling to get though to support, remember that aside from the ticket system being backed up they are working from home at the moment so it’s gonna be a nightmare for all involved. The fact that there is currently any customer support at all is to be commended! They are trying.
Just behavior. He posts on the auction house, always undercuts, and then vanishes.
No-one seems to know him or even seen him, and I can’t whisper or find the guy since he’s always offline, but he’s posting…
Makes me think he’s a bot.
Are you sure its not just a bank/auctionhouse char ? I did exactly what you said on my druid. Only logging on a few times a day to post items and repost it in case it got undercut by a certain amount.
Idk how it is with the new AH update but alot of people have bank/ah chars
Its possible its a bot, but dont forget there are some obsessed people out there that act like playing the auction house is the only reason they play WoW. It could be one of those using some auction house sniping add on.
But its kind of hard to show proof if its a bot and its just sitting in front of the ah, unlike bots that do stuff in the world and clearly move and act like bots.
Like i said before you can report him, but changes are if its a bot it will be there for a while until a banwave finally happens
That would explain the constant undercut by only a few silver.
That’s the thing though, this person posts and then seems to log off because when I try to whisper them the whisper doesn’t go through because the player is offline.
Either manually report them in-game for cheating or use the previously mentioned email in the forum thread if you’re sure + got substantial proof their a bot. Its like the bots in grim batol, they were on night and day 24/7 when i got up and went to bed.(given on a good day i only sleep roughly 6 hours) and they were always on without fail even on reset and didnt respond ever to human interaction regardless of character, i reported them but i know theres more in there.
not neccesary, its just very hard to tell in this case. The best way to check it would be by seeing how long this character is logged in, but thats hard to do as a player if he is signed in as offline or logs off from his char. Blizz should be able to check such things easily if its a bot and it being there 24/7. But then you are back to the other issue of how fast blizz deals with it if they deal with it at all
The best way is to right-click & report if you can because then they know exactly where & when the botting occurred. If that’s not possible, use the hacks email Nefaryas posted including character name, realm, what s/he’s doing, where and realm time. They can then check if it is a bot or someone using undercutting add ons.
That’s the problem. I only know the character from the auction house. I’ve never seen the character in world or in chat. Literally just the name on the AH so there’s nothing to right click.
