WANTED: Caliph Shadow Spell Power Scaling!

Attention Traveler.

Please take the dmg from a shadows spell casts in full tier 0.5 before ANY further modifiers on the player or the target are applied. That value consists of two parts. Base damage and spell power times spell power scaling modifier. Subtract 20% of the base damage value. Please increase the spellpower scaling modifier until you reach the same total value as before. Please adjust the arbitrary placeholder value of 20% up if this turns out to be insufficient. Please.

Woooow. Shadow priests now feel like their expensive gear upgrades actually make a difference and surrender to their fate as the only dhimmi required to pay a unique sort of tax under Blizzard sharia law.

Congratulations, your fifth grade math skills miraculously fixed shadow priest scaling. You have earned yourself a tel-abim banana for such hard work.

Shadow priest dots already do way too much damage.

  • Run into other class
  • Put a few dots
  • Now the other class dies even if they manage to kill you

If priests are good at pve they become unstoppable pvp gods.

Having priests be both pve and pvp top teir and healing top teir is bad for the game.

For dot spells they even could do like…
Reduce base damage by -50%.
Increase the spellpower amount by +100%.
Dot scaling is pretty bad in the current state.
That is the reason why shadow priest and affli wl will always be in disadvantage on raid dps and on overall gear upgrade to dps outcome scaling.

And for the pvp balance crybabies who still think that a thing like pvp balance is existant:
In trade for the better scaling let dots fall off delayed by 6 seconds after the caster dies.

I hope you are trolling because otherwise what you just said implies that you understood quite literally nothing of what I asked for. The change I advoced for would not result in net dmg gain in a PvP situation at all. If PvP gear has less shadow spellpower than t0.5 it would cause shadow to loose some amount of damage in PvP even.

They tried to balance all specs on ptr using t0.5 set…
Most other classes will increase their dps by x1.5 when gear gets better.
Shadowpriest and affli wl will be only x1.3 with the same gear upgrades. (Only estimated numbers to demonstrate the bad scaling)

So to make at least a little sense in the end they should have balanced it with t0.5 the way that SP and Affli are clearly on the top in the beginning so the x1.3 comes out in the end as the same as the x1.5 fron the other classes.

But they did like “we put them in the middle, deal with it” and in the endgame we will be dealing worse dps than tanks once again.

Then you have 2 options:

  • Roll destro and own dps metters
  • Roll tank and be even more useful and wanted for dungeons ,raids all kind of pve content / I personally will roll warlock tank /

These options are good and i played tank as offspec in p1 and p2 and also sometimes destro in p1 and p2.
Sadly it did not fulfill my expectations of what fun gameplay is. At least not as much as affli
