So i come back to wow and notice this war mode thing.
Now comes the really messed up thing about the current state of world pvp.
When you played on a pvp server you knew that there was pvp everywhere. And you ALWAYS helped other being attacked.
Now there is no backup.
Back in the days i would have backup from other teammates. They see a friend getting attacked?, they help out. Even if they were out questing, they were still pvp.
You didnt even know the other players that helped you. It was was war and we all stick together.
Now If your faction friends in the area want to help, they cant. Because they have this f.king war mode disabled.
So at the end of the day you realize you cant go solo and quest or pve at the same time.
Even on pvp servers you went solo. You knew help was in reach if the situation went really bad.
that’s nothing, have a look at RP shards, alliance get the WM bonus AND they’re the dominant faction on the shards(by a LOT)… good going there blizz…
I don’t play in RP shards and alliance completely dominates the shards I play on in terms of sheer numbers. I honestly believe there must be some sort of bug currently as I have a hard time believing somehow all the sudden 90% horde player base turned WM off.
I seem to have difficulty finding anybody else of the opposite faction since this warmode thing.
I play on a full realm (Tarren Mill) and play both factions so know there is plenty horde and ally about. Yet if I go into the questing zones I never see anybody around.
Sometimes I can be questing on my horde in zandalar and there are loads of friendly players bout with warmode enabled, so I’ll log on my ally and search zandalar for some fights, but there is nobody about.
Blizzard can not account for player behaviour.
With Warmode it was an attempt to merge PVE and PVP players together. However what has happened is that PVE players with no interest in PVP have Warmode switched on.
One of the reasons is that Battle for Azeroth was the rewards for playing with Warmode. Which has moved into the Shadowlands.
Perhaps a timer should be implemented. If you have not engaged in PVP for a certain amount of time then Warmode will be switched off.
What has been happening is that PVE players are enforcing a no PVP rule in game. To clarify if you are in an area outnumbered by players of the other faction. They will mostly leave you alone UNTIL you engage in PVP. Which ruins the world PVP experience for players that want to actually PVP.
If they want to just PVE then they should do it. But a no PVP allowed thing is like griefing PVP players.
With the start of Warmode in Battle for Azeroth I learned that you can not count for back up from other players of your own faction.
There are those communities that actually engage in PVP as many guilds do false advertising. They claim to PVP but you rarely see another guild member let alone PVP together.
