The War Mode bonus loot does the exact opposite of what Blizzard thinks it does.
As Alliance, more than half of the players with War Mode on don’t care and don’t participate in PvP. They do their world quests for extra rewards and ignore any form of PvP.
The moment any Horde shows face, they split.
And the only time they come crawling from under their rock is to take exploit a situation when the enemy is severely disadvantaged.
At first i thought War Mode has potential, but because of how easy it is to bail out on PvP and disable War Mode in any rested area, there is no risk involved in turning it on for a bigger reward. The Risk vs Reward is so skewed that even the people with absolutely no interest in PvP turn it on.
Even IF both factions are balanced equally, you could count out 50% of the Alliance regardless.
Lets just ignore the fact that the servers can’t even handle any PvP Event.
I’ve never experienced a Battle for Nazjatar that wasn’t a massive lagfest. Real fun.
Completely agree. I sometimes wish they’d buff the nets so they can’t just fly away the second I appear, but then I think maybe it’d work against me when the Alliance LFG gangs show up on my doorstep.
I don’t know man. I’m not sure it’s anything they can really fix, unless they make it so you lose the bonus (but still get to the keep the skills obviously) if you fail to participate in PvP over a period of time.
I see Horde doing the same stuff you observe Alliance doing. It varies. There’s a mix of player types in WM. I don’t mind that. I see pure pve’ers as something to eradicate, a fun way to look at it.
Maybe a cooldown on WM enable disable could help reduce non PvPers. But, then guaranteed reduction in WM on players and worse region imbalance. That means harder to balance shards than now, and likely more Horde single faction overflow shards - those shards are unacceptable and need to be minimized. Maybe what we have now is least worst scenario.
Agree! When an opponent if flying away from me, it’s luck if net fires off. Insta cast would be OP, but a cast reduction time of even 25% would mean net fires most of the time. I guess blizz wants flyer a good chance of escape, only being hit if they dawdle. I get it. But still, I want to hit em hehe!
Aye I think a cast time reduction of 25% wouldn’t be too bad. At the moment the only chance you have of hitting them is if they literally fly in place and don’t move. I don’t think you should be able to just willy-nilly knock people out of the sky, but just make it a little faster than it is now.
I suppose net having some difficulty makes it fun, you don’t know for sure it’s gonna hit, so you get that SCORE! or WAAAH! feeling. I see the positive side, but also the negative - I really want to bring down that escaper!
Ye, net is my fav item in wow… well, close with magic banana, but I get more use out of net.
Hah, actually I did get a blast when I managed to hit a guy on his mount in Nazjatar last night and he fell right into a pit of naga. He only had a few HP left after the fall damage, so he quickly died. Just a shame it wasn’t me who got to finish the job
