Warbound Until Equipped... Or upgraded?

I just tried to upgrade an WuE item I’ve been keeping for an alt… With my spare Valorstones on my Main, I applied a few ilvl’s to the piece.

…and now it’s soulbound? I can’t use it on my main since it’s the wrong armour type so now it’s just a dead item in my bags…

This rule of soulbinding WuE items on upgrade is absolutely tragic. Please let us use valorstones how we wish.

Come on, be logical… what currencies are used to upgrade, and are they tradable between characters?

No, no they’re not…

Boes work exactly the same way

It is logical then when you say Bind upon Equip then it is only bind when equiped.
I mean you also get a warning when you are about to equip it if you really want to do it because it will be bound then. There is no warning like this with upgrades. Only warning that you will use currency.

Did it not pop up a message saying this would bind it to you if upgraded?

Nobody reads pop up messages anyhow, so probably not the best way to inform players of anything.

But u actualy equiped it , but into upgrading slot, not into char slot, still an equip tho .

Also it has pop up window to warn you

It really annoys me when people cannot think about what possible consequences there would be to certain systems/changes they want to see in the game. From what you’re asking here it would suddenly be optimal to run an alt and make sure it has relevant crests and valorstones so that it can be an upgradeslave for any BoEs for your main character. Now everyone who isnt doing that is falling behind in gear.

You could’ve just thought twice instead of making a post.

Who is more likely to have enough currency relevant for upgrading gear? A main or a twink? Also the BoE and Warbound Gear dropping are in GS BELOW what drops normally in activities. So there is no chance a twink will be able to get more relevant gear for upgrading than a main.
