Yes good. You put this movie request when there were rumours floating about second movie for almost a week now.
Considering it was a big loss for them and also Universal I doubt youâll see a movie very soon. Maybe in another 10 years.
And please donât start thinking famous actors can save the movie⊠they litrally had Ragnar in the and nobody cared.
The whole movie was a failure they did not manage to interpret the warcraft universe at all there was so much ruined potential.
They needed to make WC movie about Lich King
That would have been so much better. Orcs and Humans were too much like LotR. Maybe they wanted it to tie in with WoD.
Shocker. Who would have thought that a lorewise wrong movie would not end up being a masterpiece. And yes, im aware that its an alternative universe.
I mean i watched the movie in the cinema and my friend was constantly glancing at me with a view that told me âi know, i know, you can rage afterwardsâ and many of us watchers spread the word that the lore in the movie was wrong.
Yes. Just make a movie of Arthas life from birth til lich king, or even death.
I think the main problem with the first movie was that it began pretty much at the beginning of the WoW story which is nowhere near the most interesting. They should have picked on an exciting event mid story (maybe Arthas as others have said) that would draw the non-player in. Then, if that was successful they could have started thinking about the prequels to show how the story got there.
I mean, personally, I loved it. But what I loved was the bringing to life all the places I knew so well. The story was sort of subsidiary to that which doesnât work if youâre coming to it fresh.
Would make more sense for them to start a series.
It was originally planned as a trilogy with the second film about Thrallâs enslavement and the third about the founding of Ogrimmar.
Tauren were to be introduced in the second film as well.
I enjoyed it myself. Itâs not the godfather, but it was entertaining. Would like to have seen more.
I was cringing during the entire first movie.
The human parts and acting was bad, straight up. It should have been just Orcs tbh.
Ok, either I missed it or youâre all using rose tinted glasses hereâŠ
As a warcraft fan, obviously, even i found parts of the story rushed.
The writing was pretty dire, the storyline was so cliche it made me cringe, visually was stunning but it put far too much emphasis towards warcraft fans.
Such a shame as, some of the stories and characters already in the lore are film worthy (Arthas alone).
Someone with zero warcraft knowledge i feel would have struggled to understand even the basics of what was going on. Sadly thats not easy for the director etc to hit as im sure the studio refused to release it as a trilogy for fear of it tanking, which it pretty much did.
So does WoW, its its biggest market. Its no accident that China has more classic servers than the rest of the world combined.
eh the movie was terrible they made the same mistake of the wing commander movie they did not stick to established lore
I was thinking about this just the other day.
The Warcraft movie is a strange beast. Itâs hilariously strong in some areas and hilariously weak in others.
Thereâs a lot of great effects and a lot of great Warcraft characters. Lots of themes about honour and a ying-yang theme (From light comes darkness, and from darkness light) which is probably why it did so well in China.
Overall itâs a pretty good movie but with a couple of characters so awfully cringe that it just destroys the whole experience. Itâs also too short.
To me, the real problem with Warcraft can basically be summed up as âGaronaâ and, to some extent, the labour with Thrall going through the dark portal. Itâs just really out of theme and awkward, and generally not culturally accepted in the US and EU. Couldâve shown the corruption of Thrall without that to be perfectly honest.
But Garona really is the worst. Her character arc makes no sense, Llane is way too trusting of her, she makes a lot of cringy comments about mates and sex and stuff like that. She also doesnât make sense from a lore perspective. Itâs unclear how she came to be. Then Blizzard said sheâs half Draenei, but she doesnât look like a Draenei, and she also doesnât look orcish to the degree that many of the female orcs, like Draka, who is amazing by the way 90% of the time. She looks half human. This is made even worse by the fact that she acts like a bridge between the Orcs and Humans and somehow understands Common. Itâs confusing.
Everything else is actually really great, from the animation to the acting - they even manage to make the spellcasting flashy but without being cringe, which I had never seen before.
But Garona is such a huge part of the movie it just tears it apart for me. She destroys the whole thing.
If I had come into the cinema watching something like the BfA cinematics - that half an hour, but as an entire Warcraft plot spanning 3 hours, Iâd have been completely sold. That would have been so, so awesome.
A reboot sounds like a good idea. It definitely deserves a second chance. I didnât know about it, but glad itâs being discussed.
I would say a 20 episode season, but either way. a series would be the best.
Make a Sylvanas movie, called âSylvanas Beginsâ.
And forest scenes film in actual forest combined with the CGI,not the studio, because in wow movie it looked like it was set of wizard of oz 1939
