Warcraft & WoW RPG - I Need Your Help!

I’ve been interested in doing my own DnD game set in WoW but I’m still pretty new to DnD itself. I need people’s advice!

Has anyone done one? What advice can you give me? Is it good to use the RPG manual (Warcraft and or WoW manual) or is it better to use another system and reskin it? I’m pretty confused about it all, to be honest. I essentially just want a roleplaying experience, not a total numbers game!

I would recommend sticking to the D&D world (The Realms, I think they’re called) before trying to transform the game into Azeroth’s equivalent.

I recently found the following in a small look for WoW-based D&D:-old.reddit.com/r/wc5e/comments/av2256/warcraft_heroes_handbook_v2

I think it’s be used in conjuction with the Player’s Handbook and Dungeon Master’s Guide which can be found easily online.

I run not one but two campaigns of DnD with a different rule set than linked here. Works quiet fine though current version - 3.1 - has few bugs but they are being worked on.

I would recommend to stay within the the default DnD setting (Forgotten Realms), since you can find a lot of lore and information readily available online and you won’t have to invent stat blocks for monsters (or redress the ones from the Monster Manual to fit the Warcraft setting).

If you absolutely want the Warcraft setting, I would try to find a copy of the RPG books.

Otherwise you will have to redress a lot of systems… magic in DnD for example is completely different from Warcraft.

For actually running the game I can recommend the “Angry GM” Blog (just google it). If you get around his long, rumbling introductions he has some very good tips for game masters that apply to almost any RPG.

And of course, watch “Critical Role” on Twitch or YouTube, Matt is an awesome DM.
