demonology is “fine” atm but losing baleful invocation/explosive potential is gonna make the spec so slow and unfun to play. it also needs an interrupt baseline, it’s pathetic that it’s still not baseline.

Sometimes i get the feeling that class designers after Xelnath change stuff just because they can.
Clunky “demon-commander” Demonology made it into Legion and wasn’t really changed in BfA, destro changed from embers to shards and changed back to embers with shard skin again because it woudn’t work and all warlocks knew that. And that’s to name just a few weird changes.

Could you reiterate this point ? I don’t quite get what you mean;
is it 1) you believe mage falls under the same things i wrote here
2) you also play a mage and you have some concerns ?
3) somthing about mage being melee i don’t get,
4) you think i place DH and firemage together because of being melee ? instead of being meta ?

Well you said warlock is the only class with 3 “pura ranged specs”, while mages also have 3 pure ranged specs (frost, fire, arcane).
Changes that was made after Xelnath looks like an attempt to erase all what he has done.
Knowing the history why Xelnath was fired from blizz, i would be surprised that he pissed off personaly some major players in blizz dev team. Because they (blizz) took 180 turn from Xelnath’s gameplay design.

not everyone is a metacuck and stays loyal to their class-fantasy.
The game is more then pushing numbers in fanatic and toxic M+ runs.

Agree… .after so many years of trying to main my affliction lock I’ve decided to roll another class in SL. Dont rly wanna do 0 dmg in pvp and die to every melee between their stuns/interrupts/gap closers. Another ranged dot class - shadow priest, is going to be even worse, so I really don’t know what to play now… Since DHs are getting MS (wtf???) its seem every arena team in 2v2 will be resto druid/DH, and in 3v3 DH/x/x or still rogue/mage/heal… Great class balance blizzard

this 100%, it has been from the start of wod (it was to far in development but it started to go a 180 turn) and in legion it was a total try to errase xelnath legacy in the hope we would forget about him.
Strong feeling ion is one of them who hated xelnath.
