Warlock issues

After reading Niche’s post about Warlock issues on the US forums I agree with everything he is saying but I also have a couple points I wanted to add to that list which I think need solving.

One thing Niche didn’t really go into was our lack of AoE or DPS CD’s

Our AoE is ok but it suffers from the same issue our ST damage suffers from and that’s the ramp up time of it, it’s a cast time that also has travel time delay and you have to stand still to cast it, so we have a lot of down time running to get into range and casting only for half the mobs to be dead before cast goes off, most other classes have mobility and aoe that is instant cast and sometimes spammable, our AoE dps will look good on small packs with huge HP, but in a speedrun environment or even in an environment where things just naturally die faster due to better gear and tactics we will gradually get worse and worse, this isn’t a good feeling knowing that as a phase goes on we will get worse and worse due to stuff dying faster. A good idea for affliction AOE would be an ability to cast corruption on multiple targets at a time, that coupled with nightfall would give us great aoe with instant cast SBV and help our mobility on trash at the same time.

Our ST suffers the same issue of bosses dying faster and faster, I think our execute rune in reality wont even give us much of a boost because we wont see more than 20seconds of it in effect, we are doomed to progressively become worse each phase due to boss kill times, I believe we are missing a dps CD in order to offset this issue, almost all other classes have at least one dps CD to use on each boss, it would feel great to have a dps CD.

Hmm, perhaps something lore friendly that already exist in different iteration of the game. Maybe Infernal or Doomguard guardian (not pet) that scales properly with stats with 1-2 minute duration and 5 minute CD.
