Warlock Mage Tower 9.1.5

I did the Destruction one. I haven’t tried the others but just heard Dest one was quite easy, hence i went for it.

Tips i can give for those struggling;

  1. Talent into shadowburn. Very handy for killing the snakes and snapping that totem.
  2. Always save cataclysm and havoc for the snakes.
  3. Before Tugar starts casting Earthquake, which will start the transition to snakes, make sure you have around 3 shards saved. This way, you can do this for the snakes; Cata, RoF, Havoc, conflag/incinerate, another RoF, then snap them down with Shadowburn. You can argue that snakes are not really difficult to kill; such is the case only at the begining. Just the fact that they spawn 1 by 1 (5 in total) towards Tugar’s death makes 1 or 2 of them not get hit by the Cata, thus, spamming 2x RoF on them to bring them down to Shadowburn range is very useful.
  4. I personally didn’t hit Jormog at all, other than applying Immolate. Once Tugar is down, its relatively easy to kill Jormog. Some people may find it difficult to take it down as it may feel like it actually outdamages your healing.

Here’s what you can do; make sure you have pots! Remember that healthstones can be used with pots. If you didn’t mess up and saved your HS, you will have HS and pot for Jormog.

Use coil - fear - shadowfury ( in order), to CC his Scream cast (after Tugar dies).

When you do the 2nd interrupt for the Scream cast with the Fear, wait for the full 6 second duration! This means during that 6 seconds you are not taking any damage and you are getting your coil back for more healing.

Utilize drain life! Definitely throw in some drain life there, not only for the Jormog phase but in general.

  1. I popped infernal right away. It felt like i didn’t really need to save it for Jormog or for some certain time. Popped it right away, started taking Tugar down right away.

  2. Make a basic kick macro for Turgar. Helps alot!

  3. Keep in mind that you can fear both Jormog and Turgar for their casts! If you are free enough, interrupt Turgar’s cast with a fear. This will mean that you will have your kick AND coil for the snake phase. Both are wayy easier to use compared to fearing Turgar in the midst of that chaos.

  4. I realized Tugar usually casts the Fel Burst after the cross-shaped fell spell.

  5. If you feel like Tugar and Jormog are going to overlap with their Scream + Fel Burst; you can actually pre-fear one of them.

Meaning; you get the feeling they will overlap. Fear Jormog right away, let him sit in the fear till Tugar makes the cast, fear Tugar, then fear Jormog.

Also, if you have coil and havoc both off cooldown; you can havoc + coil both for double cc.

  1. Replace your non-socketed items with the ones from the AH with a good haste - mastery ratio.

For example, your shiny 252 legs with haste - mastery might be something like 17 haste - 68 mastery. If you find something from AH at or above 50 ilvl, with a stat distribution like 21 haste - 14 mastery. Its actually better for you when it gets scaled back to 50! That 17 haste - 68 mastery will be like 7 haste - 18 mastery.

Or maybe it is 30 crit - 30 haste, which is not bad, but why not get something with mastery on it from AH, with a higher haste distribution! I had around 36-37% haste this way, was very useful for the fear casts.

There are decent enchants for 50-60-70 ilvl items too (the ones you’ll be buying from the AH), make sure they are enchanted as well.

I’ll edit other things if i remember.

No need for much min-maxing like farming old gear. I used current SL gear which mostly i play with daily, I just added some lower ilvl pieces such as season 1 / castle nathria gear that i had in my bags which gave me more haste/mastery, so i had those stats on everything and a little bit of vers.

Kil karam and then just play around phantom singularity and drain life. Keep agonying small mobs so you can drain life every 5-6 seconds back to full so you can negate the shadowbolts. You will get the hang of it with some attempts

There is a way. Don’t kill small adds at all, only kill hands. Your job is to spam as much agony as possible on small adds so you get shards and very quick drain life stacks. If you do it properly you can full stacked drainlife every hand that spawns.
Kill the melee guy first, pop all cds when he walks for the 3rd time. Use your felhunter to remove runes by moving it there.
Then the caster guy gets enraged and spams strong shadowbolts that hit you for 1/3 of your HP, now this is where you need to be super patient. This fight will take a while, took me around 10 minutes. Move your pet somewhere so it doesn’t die and use it only to remove runes, the damage of the pet is not important here.
Boss keeps spawning a lot of shadow mobs. Try to kite them in such a way so they all will be stacked. Don’t kill them, only stack agony on them as much as you can.
What you will do now is slowly rot away the caster boss while keeping agony up on adds and drain lifing the boss to get HP back.

Obviously drain life alone is not enough, and here is where other tools come in handy. You your shield that you can use every minute, use it when you have a lot of hp to get some time to be able to cast more agonies on ads. You have your wall which is just a safety measure and you have phantom singularity. Use it as a heal when you are low and don’t have enough agonies on mobs. With 50 mobs that you have stacked that thing alone will heal you to full while it lasts.
At some points the slowing pools will despawn which will make it easier to kite. So all you do is heal yourself, spam agony, use cds when necessary, kite ads and move pet to runes.
I did it without any specific gear abuse, trinkets or consumes. Just normal haste pvp gear.

Since nobody mentioned this, I will.
You can outrange Shadowbolts.
That makes the fight rather easy.

Just DoT Raest and do mechanics, don’t get hit by outranging it.
Eventually you’ll succeed, even if it took you lot of time. Absolute Corruption is great for this and sometimes peaking out to Agony Raest is also great.

If you got to this phase, you’ll definately be able to complete it with the same way how you do it and this new information. But you’ll need to soak circles with pet. As soaking them yourself would mean getting hit by Shadowbolt. But your pet probably won’t get hit as even when you outrange it, Raest doesn’t switch target.

I didn’t notice any bugs.
I didn’t complete any of the challenges but I’ve found no bugs really.

I’ve just found that, despite what everyone says, gear matters. Because the only thing I die for is Karam, and that’s because my damage is so low that he will become so faster that he can reach me even if he has exaustion on it (and it’s always the case).
I did 99 tries.
I thougth I was bad but I’ve watched a ton of the videos of succesful people and they’re killing the adds with one agony and one corruption while for me they last for sooooo long.

I don’t have the necessary damage and this is a bad thing because I don’t want to farm for the gear, I already did a Siege of Orgrimmar run and spent 28k golds on gems. It helped me for sure beacuse haste increases tick rate but I’ve lost 100 intellect in the process and that is because 45 iLvl is not better then 50 iLvl.

Maybe I will give up, I’m tired of farming to do every single thing.

This is the big difference between people who can do it and can’t do it.

It’s not helpful when these people who cheesed it state “get gud” when they had to cheese the challenge in the first place to get the damage output we should already have.

I’ve near enough watched every video for the destro challenge and each time I see the player chonking the health of the tauren and snake adds whereas I don’t have that damage output and I’m a mix of shadowlands SoD heroic gear and M+ gear.

To put more salt in the wound Blizz deems it fine looking at the blue post.

Yes. Most people that say gear doesn’t matter are people who have great gear.
Maybe they don’t abuse old gear, but their current gear is pretty much perfect… and most people have some raid PvE trinkets that are great.

Try running Legion Raids for some gear, preferably with LOT of haste (don’t check just whether it has haste, but also how much).

Also don’t forget you can wear 2 Legion Legendaries (not for effect, but for stats - some of them may have Haste + Mastery). You can buy those for Wakening Essences. I greatly advise for Neck piece (Prydaz) with Enchant: Mark of Hidden Satyr… that does shoot some damage at people you dotted automatically once in a while. You can also socket it.

Also I advise getting macros for Spell Lock and Slow. For Spell Lock to automatically target the Hand and interrupt it. For slow to automatically target Karam and Slow him.

Bualock also made video now (post-buff).

As if it wasn’t hard enough already, I am now being double punished. Everytime I die Im respawning/ressing at the graveyard, away from the tower. Rather than right next to the entrance… any1 else getting this?
