As an pvp affliction warlock i can confirm that spec is nerfed to the ground, u either have godlike kiting skills or every melee physical can kill you randomly and the only skill they need to do this is to just be near you. Blizz tried to force playing 4set on affli but they just made class unplayable, u either go demo or reroll.
Literally butchered the class. arena is unplayable at ratings 2.1+ there is no way to survive warriors, hunters and ferals. Imagine getting happy by facing RMPâs⌠ye that means something is totaly wrong. they should hotfix imidiatelly at least armor
Itâs funny because i am literally happier facing RMP than any melee cleave with DK, DH, Fury or anything with a hunter.
Thatâs true rmp is now better for warlock than any melee cleave
also 6 sec pet summon is a pain in the A** sometimes , also a purgable buff every 1.6 min with max out conduit is something i dont like , yeah we got an additional spell but for what price , miss the times were i could rotate through my pets
I think first you need to remove the demonic armor, then remove the survivability from the demonologist, and finally remove the warlock from the game. and literally through the patch to remove the game itself. Had a solo shuffle yesterday that was quite disgusting.
Usually i do well with solo shuffles, but yesterday i got 2 geared warriors as opponents and i wanted to try out a fast burst setup to insta kill someone with hounds, grimoire felguard and Tyrannt. Usually someone dies very quickly and the round is over, so there is not much time to play cat & mouse games.
The 2 warriors tried to tunnel me of course with all their cds up and i used portal and engage them after they used up their cds and now it was my turn to insta kill someone.(along with axe stun and coil to safe the kill)
Instead, i was insta gibbed in a few globals through 30% vers, resolve and SL.
A lot is wrong with the game - cds timers are not respected, class design is off, and the biggest irony is, demo never had demon armor in this expansion to begin with, while its required against this kind of physical burst around in the pvp meta.
A class designed to fight with pets, that has long cd and has to cast and is squishy. Ok, there is that mad Tyrannt burst, but Unholy DK/BM Hunter feels more fluent to play.(no casts, little cds)
As unholy you have a better feeling of a master summoner than as demo.
It is so frustrating, i still think blizzard need to change the summons to instant. I mean we still need haste and for PvP they sound being back PvP Power and Resilience. So we still have mastery on our gear, demo needs more mastery on gear without missing in the versa part.
Wotlk had the same heavy melee meta that worked against locks, but i am almost sure it was a slightly better expierence with resilence around and many abilities still availible. Will soon find out if i remembered correctly.
In both expansions locks were the top PvE DD specs, too. lol
Affli/Rshaman Affli/Rdruid would be Number1 Comp if PalaWar didnt exist and even PalaWar u can win.
Affli/Rdruid is S1 one of the strongest if not the strongest comp

Yeah, you are absolutely right about the summons, they have to be instant. Without heavy kiting its not really possible to do 2 casts soul rot + tyrannt. 1 cast is quite enough, when other classes only spit out instants.
If the devs do not change this, to instant summons, i really advocate them to make affliction great again in pvp increase dot dmg and remove MG.
Fear not breaking immediatly should be standard, the catch with it it has the potential to make someone run out of sight behind a pillar, it does not need to break on very little dmg.
I donât wont to see another SL class design BS, with tanky mages and kiting warlocks.
I saw a few weeks ago blizz is hiring new pvp designers maybe this is a good start or copium.
The good thing in the classic version of wotlk is, there wonât be overblown dks in S5, not sure about warrior, probably will still be very bursty. Grim Toll trinket from naxx for example has good synergy with them.
But thats just theory i never played much pvp in wotlk, i only did raid there and noticed a huge problem with ArP gear + classes that benefit from it.

Warriors becomes Godtier in S8 with Armorpen (starting in s7)
DK is very strong in s5 but Affli is stronger Beastcleave is a problem for Lock in s5 since Resilience lack
Only did very few arenas and some bgs in wotlk but i noticed in s8, a MM Hunter with maxed armor penetration gear, to farm people like flys and i checked them all - they had max resilence and plate and defensive passives they died in like 2-3 gcds from the hunter at max range. I thought thats pretty much broken, he had no support or extra healer. Kill count was like 40 or something in warsong.
Think the warrior was the arena version of that.

Might try warlock in pvp in S5, and do the later phases with MM hunter or Warrior, to see the full wotlk pvp expierence that i missed due to raiding schedules.

MM Hunter is probably the hardest Class to play in Wotlk Arenas u need to use ur Dterrance on a weird way wich i dont understand guess its a 500hour Hunter thing
