Warlock or mage? (PVP)

Hi,
Exactly as in topic, which one is better? i’ve been playing warlock for X time but hated it in legion so i leveled up my mage, lately i’ve dinged 120 with my warlock and i’ve got a question, which one is better for pvp? Any kind of mage spec or any kind of warlock spec?
From what I’ve noticed, leveling and doing story quests with mage is tough, i have to blink, use CD’s can’t heal, while warlock is super tanky especially in demo, i can lure many mobs and obliterate them with AOE

I was playing warlock PVP i was facerolled by all melee and couldn’t kill any priest while playing good, when i was on the same rank, same gear, i could win with most casters, but never with melee unless he was really bad (like trying to interrupt during my resolve) while mage can blink, i can shadowmeld, invis, slow, polymorph etc
good melee can kill my rogue easily, especially rogues, during one, ONE stunlock, with me being unable to cast outside of it.

i can’t test PVP on my mage due to serious lack of gear, so what are your opinions?

If you hated it in legion, you will hate it now for sure.

Mage you can 1v1 some melees arcane all melee if u got 3 quick thinking trait but gonna lose to most casters. Personably I get bored of my lock quick though just because of the lack of mobility.

You have to ask yourself which playstyle you prefer:

Warlock: 0 mobility (demonic gateway is a 2min cd and doesn’t really count as mobility with that sort of a cooldown), some CC (fear, shadowfury baseline, few other speced or spec specific stuns/roots/disables), your damage relies heavily on a 3 min cd (if you’re playing destro), in group pvp situations you are heavily reliant on your team to support you and to give you breathing room to cast. Very weak defensives.

Mage: As you said, not as tanky, but outside that does practically everything the same, but better: mobile, fire has insane damage/burst, good cc (all specs have frost nova, you can spec into ring of frost, blink casting, etc). Frost has good slow control, arcane has great survivability with the right traits and best in game mobility.

tl;dr I would pick mage if I was you if you’re planning on doing any high level pvp and don’t want to tryhard as a craze’o.

Personally - I’d recommend picking a melee class (like DH, DK, warrior, monk. even rogue, paladin or hunter - not melee, but still doesn’t have casts that are interruptable) for the following reasons:

You have baseline interrupt applicable for all casters (casters don’t have a baseline disarm for melee classes) on a joke cd;
You will have 50%+ baseline slows that you can have 90% uptime on;
Melee classes are usually a joke to play because they are equipt with a well rounded all purpose toolkit that you can address anything with (evasions, parries, spell immunities or reflects, huge regens and general avoidances);

And in general… IF you enjoy a caster - definetly play a caster, but if you do not have any ties with casters - pick a melee and use your head to play instead of fingers and it will work out just fine :3

In terms of competitive pvp, destro warlock in 3v3 is the way to go.

in terms of fun, or anything that is not 3v3 arenas, mage.

If you like wPvP avoid Warlock for sure. You never win - you either die or watch the enemy escape as you have zero mobility. I practically always keep War Mode on, but I don’t even engage a 1v1 anymore because I know there is nothing I can do to prevent any class from escaping.

Curse of Exhaustion as a PvP talent when?
