Warlock specs - help :-)

Hello everyone
Getting back to WOW after a long (VERY long) break. I’m toying with the idea of playing a Warlock, since it’s one of the classes i basically never ever played

But this being said, i’m slightly lost with regards to their specs…
Am i understanding correctly that - in a nutshell :

Affliction : DOT’s based
Demo : Pets based
Destru : DD spells based

?

Do all specs get a pet that can “tank” for them, or just demo ? (ie, i intend to play solo most of the time - can “non-demo-minions” keep aggro off you ? )
I have seen videos of demonology locks and TBH not too fan of the army of pets following you around
I’m leaning toward Destruction, but wondering how “solo-friendly” that spec is when talking about delves etc (?)

Affliction is maintaining dots and during cooldowns rupturing them - right now it’s dps is consolidated into cooldown windows.

Demo is summoning based and just press everything on cd, react to procs and every minute setup massive demonic tyrants.

Destro is all about juggling soul shard spenders depending on target counts, whilst having immolate at 100% uptime.

Demo always uses felguard. Destro/Aff can pick whatever pets they like but voidwalker is the traditional tank/aoe pet.

In terms of delves, all 3 specs do well but if you are doing Zekvir?? destro is the best spec using a felhunter and Brann in healer mode.
